What's the problem you're trying to solve by getting new skis? Technical problem with the old skis? Manifest destiny of the ski quiver?

Re: How important is ski weight to xcd skiing?
I get more tired from things like poor kick or glide or squirrelly skis that don't track straight than from ski weight.

Re: How's the ROM in the Scott Excursion
I agree with the above posts. Only think to add is to mention that the plastic that the Excursions use is softer than the plastic used for the t4s so the Excursions flex in a more "natural" way

Re: Vector BC Binding Finding
...I didn't read the whole thread but I saw it mentioned that K&G doesn't matter that much with such a big ski anyway. Re: Vector BC Binding Finding
IMO, Excursions and 3-pin HWs may be a good option for the skiing you describe. Re: Newbie looking for the right advice and gear
Not much to add to the advice above. I'm in the UP and ski Vector BCs for skiing similar to what you describe. IMO, use the T2s for Bohemia and more challenging terrain but also keep the T4s for longer tours and less demanding terrain.

Re: Can big guys with bad knees tele?
Just a couple of quick thoughts: 1. Your skis are way too short especially for anything involving soft snow. 2. Bad knees and extra mass and tele seems like a bad idea especially considering that most tele bindings don't release in the case of a bad fall. 3. Have you considered an AT setup? I don't ...
