Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Åsnes Ingstad BC

OK, OK, the NATO is the same sidecut ski with less rocker AND different flex! are we accurate enough now?  the same exact dimensions....they're pretty close IMO  . A 100mm waisted, 165cm long telemark ski would be a very different ski to me. If I was thinking mostly XC trail-brea...

Re: Opinion on Skin Skis?

Skin skis make a lot of sense to me - there are big areas of performance where waxless patterns fail badly - ice, collapsing snow, hard granular....short skins work better in all of these areas. I see them as an alternative to fishscales, not waxing skis. But I'm guessing these mohair-based skins pr...

love the video! From that one shot of the skis it seems like maybe Ousland has more camber than the Gamme? that would make sense

Woods is that dawn patrol? It looks like the ski area is closed but the corduroy is freshly pressed.

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 SKIN

>>Hey, did you take your skins off in the warm? Musky do you think this is a bad idea - I would have to agree. Last year I left my Asnes mohair's on there for a couple weeks and decided to pull them off, inside at room temperature. A lot of the glue came off and stuck to the ski base. Is this verbot...

Re: First Backcountry ski area in US

we already have MANY lodges and facilities dedicated to BC skiing all over the United States. The nicest one I've seen is a day lodge in Olympic National Park in Washington. Can't remember the exact name of it but you drive way up into the montains to get there...beautiful building and facility surr...

Re: Holy sh** I am worn out tonight

After 6 months of NSAIDs I found myself passed out in the shower one morning. Girlfriend carried/lifted me to the ER - a team of people came running down the hallway - I was bleeding to death. Massive GI bleed from multiple breached arteries. They had to do "endoscopic cauterization" with a laser to...

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Åsnes Ingstad BC

for the price of a little more weight the NATO Combat is the same ski with less rocker. It comes in 200cm which offers another option for length. IMO you want the 200cm+ length for more flotation, it will be harder to log miles in deep snow with a shorter ski.

Re: Boot Review: Crispi Lofoten 75

I don't know what to tell you guys. I just ski much better on my Alaska 75's than on my Antarctics. They flex smoother, more in line with my foot, and are just delivering more performance. Alaska are great made-in-Europe leather boots, it sounds like they fit & support your feet better. This is why...
