Re: Total newb, looking for advice.

The hardest part is dealing with all the advice here around where exactly to mount them. The easiest way around that is just to install pins on balance point. Find the installation manual for your binding are you should be good to go. Instead of a stepped bit, which would be better, I just duct tap...

Falketind 62 Review

Other than terrible GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) Why would one need both the FT62 and the Rabb 68? If your buying spree is limited to a pair of FT62 and Rabb 68s, you should be ok. However, if your desire for more cannot be contained beyond 2-3 pair, you've got GAS. The Asnes GAS is a special te...

Re: Alpina BC 1600 Boot

I am not sure which version it is relevant for but it might be the new one and it is quite disturbing. I wonder if this version is more oriented toward the Norwegian market. Worth emailing Alpina about their newest version. What are you disturbed about??? Hey, i've been hunting down the better nord...

Re: Complete skiing. Near perfect continuity between flats, uphills and downhills.

A lower grip on non adjustable pole is a must in the bc. Have you tried skiing in 2 feet of soft snow with those baskets??? Man, that would be such a pain IMO. SWIX makes large snow baskets with leather webbing. The leather bends the basket so that it does not drag on hard snow. And the large basket...

Re: Can't find topics !

It’s quite peculiar that one could find info about using nnnbc boots with wide skis but none about excursions and t4. Those stiffer boots will definitely take you one step further out of your comfort zone on the steeps. But yeah, listen to Rod, he’s my pal and he knows what he’s talking about! Sent ...

Howdy partner! We live and learn don’t we? Do yourself a favour and take your hands out of your pole loops on the descent!

Re: Broke my x-skins second time using them

You have to pull the skin off slowly and gradually. If you yank it off the ski in one shot, especially with the ski still on your foot, that’s how you can chip that plastic cover real quick. I know what I am talking about here. IMO it’s a defect, Asnes should redesign. Still the best half skin desig...
