Re: Newbie seeking advice

I should add; For nordic bc touring i am considering going to a with either leathers or alpina Alaskans with, I am thinking nnnbc as opposed to a light 3 pin cable binding. I have never used nnnbc so am not sure what to think. As for the skis.... well I dont know much of what's out there but, thoug...

Re: Newbie seeking advice

Hello! Nice to hear from a fellow Newfoundlander! Those boots like Garmont veloce. They are pretty crappy and you surely do not want to tour with them. I’m not sure I’m getting your ultimate goal here, mostly flat touring with small hills and resort skiing all in one setup? You can go so many ways h...

Re: Johnny, Pierre, and the beast. Or the new Telemark Tech Norm (TTN) vs the future of XCD (NTN-BC)

The SuperTelemarks are not appropriate in this table since 99% of you guys are using cables for cross-country downill. And keep in mind that the Alico or Andrew boots you guys need to drive your ST without cables are 1600g each... Compared to the 725g ALFA Guards NTN-BC... 8-) You've got a way with...

Re: Johnny, Pierre, and the beast. Or the new Telemark Tech Norm (TTN) vs the future of XCD (NTN-BC)

Would a Tech toe and leathers provide the lightweight performance of nnnbc but with enough control for wider skis? Who wouldn't want that!!! Would a lighter touring version without springs in the plate make sense? How much control is there when just using tech toe touring? The spring and plate bit ...

Re: Front-Half Skins

I checked out the Nato skins, I wish I had gotten those. I can't believe they don't design all of their X-skins that way. They used to. They thought the plastic cap was an improvement. Several here stated it was, at least glidewise, when the new version was rolled out. Personally, I think the metal...

Re: Front-Half Skins

I like your mod. Basically bringing it back to the original asnes half skin attachment. Check out the orange combat Nato half skin to see what I am talking about. You could have shaved the front bot of the skin hairs for better adherence of the metal clip. The clip might actually dig deeper into the...

Isn't it inspiring? I have a couple loose pairs... Hum...
Forget that tv dude.

If those extras STs are pink or blue, I prohibit all forms of tinkering. They are worth their fare share of gold I say

Re: Front-Half Skins

I have friends that do this...add bd kickers skins starting at the tip for better climbing. They use them on scaled skis. Always thought they were weird....but so am I.

Very sane advice. Well plenty of snow and wind here to enjoy 48 pairs of skis. See ya
