Re: Musings on Wax

Yes, super-concentrated quality advice and vision has been expounded here! Not much to add really. I have a stong affinity towards Granpa's advice: you got good strong grip that you can't shake off? Take advantage and hit the steeps you dared not ski in warmer conditions! Opportunity. A harder wax (...

Boot Review: Crispi Lofoten 75

I just swapped my NNN-BC's for Rott ST's off my Ingstads so I can ski my 75mm Alaskas on them. :o Revelation of the year and its only the end of January! I totally understand you not liking a toe knuckle cruncher boot. Top of the list of priorities is a boot that fits, well sized and is com...

Stops them from being a convenient solution, for a start. I've resisted using climbing skins on those skis because I was sort of concerned about exactly...

Åsnes Borge Ousland BC Ski Review

I wouldn't count on any of them for nice smooth turns, as they all have quite a lot of camber... And I don't consider "arcing" a way of turning. But since the Ousland is the one with the softer tips it could be the easiest, depending on how and where you turn... 8-) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Re: wax vs scales vs XSkin vs klister

I think the real issue with wet skins is that they might freeze as you hike up in elevation or as it cools at night, then and only the do you really loose grip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The real issue with wet skins is when you skin with them into new colder snow, e.g., in a shady area, or...

Re: Nnnbc magnum bindings on wide skis???

Do report how’s it goes! Not too long ago, a knight would have been banished from xcdom for attempting what you propose. Somehow, they have softened up and are more relaxed about all this now. Enjoy!
