I know, its good, but not so good in the sleeping bag IMO. Have you tried popping your warm nalgene bottles in 'em while eating breakfast in the morning? 2x500m bottles are great for that.

Re: Fischer S-Bound 98 or 88?

The Annum will be your best bet I'm sure. Also, based on your terrain, I'd seriously consider lilcliffy's method of using a NNN BC binding on this ski. I'd normally not think that was a good idea, but if you main goal is to cover distance through deep powder, then the little efficiency you gain fro...

Yup. Its a good idea if you are slipping, but on the tip and tail only though. No grip wax of the scales!

No need to if they are dry! That's the gain you get from wearing VBLs all day long!

Re: Cheap resort/hardpack setup.

Still looking for a Cheat resort tele ski for those days I want to focus on learning to carve on harderpacked stuff at the local hill. FYI: I'm 160lbs and 5'10. I have Hammerheads and SynerG boots. What should I be expecting slapping those HH's on: Fischer 102 Supercontrol 178cm 102-63-90 Radius=19m...

Re: Fischer S-Bound 98 or 88?

You know Ben - I'm only going off the pinnah database of old skis, but I bet he'd really like a catamount class ski: https://home.comcast.net/~pinnah/DirtbagPinner/bc-skis.html#SNOWSHOES They might be hard to find but they sound a little like your old 10th Mountain except with the possibility of a ...

Re: Fischer S-Bound 98 or 88?

Yeah tell me a little more about this ski and how you like it. I have seen it on craigslist a few times and found one for a good price, but never thought it would be wide enough. Is it the one made in Italy? I found a good deal on a 195cm Madshus Epoch, but I didn't even consider it too much becaus...

Re: All purpose backcountry/bushwack ski

The Offtrack 3 & 5 are also made with an NNN BC sole. I've played around with them in a shop and their really not bad for someone looking to optimize K&G in the BC. As for the Offtrack ski line, other than the fact that their recommended length is up to 25cm shorter than full length skis (i.e. E99),...
