Re: Alpina BC 1600 Boot

Thank for these informations! It seems a bit contradictory with the abovementioned test. Could it be that they changed the boot? The old version looked a lot cheaper than the new one and they might have redesigned the whole shoe like Alfa with their Guard versions. They might have, but I think the ...

Re: It's XCd. Case closed.

Don't get hung up on terminology. The XCD (XCd-xcD) lingo used here came about to talk about the subtle differences between equipement and skiing preferences in some grey zone between pure XC and modern hardshell telemarking. Say a Asnes Gamme skis w/ Alfa Advance for touring with some low-incline ...

Re: Alfa vs. Alpina sizing

Guillaume is right, the Alfa's are for strong, wide feet. The widest nordic backountry last available IMO. My wide feet feel right in an Alfa boot but not in so in the Alaska (narrower, but not as narrow as others such as rossignol or crispi). Fisheater pointed to a decent thread with good info. We ...

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Åsnes Ingstad BC

Anybody else notice a significant variation in camber and/or stiffness between Ingstad BC models? There are very few of us with the benefit of owning several skis of the same model, particularly in the same size. A few years back, it was nearly common knowledge that Asnes skis came in variable camb...

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Åsnes Ingstad BC

Meh, no such thing as a perfect ski. You basically nailed it before considering the ingstad. I say own a pair of ski and choose the one appropriate for the outing. If you want more turns, keep the nato combat but get a ft62 to complement your quiver.

Re: PM issue

I have had no probs messaging other members recently but in this case I was unable to reply to a message sent to me. Al, did you get my test PM, I got yours anyhow. I did not know about disabling PMs. I do know when you hit 100, you can no longer receive more before erasing old ones and "forcing a ...

Seems like you mounted them on Åsnes skis from the look of it... just being curious ;)
Yup, probably on a pair of Ousland BCs. Johnny likes to mix things up!
