Re: Switching to NTN / binding hole patten

Only problem with recommending 7tms and CRBs is that they're both out of production. So at best, you're dealing with new old stock or used bindings, and down the road parts will become more and more scarce. They're both good and capable bindings, but that's one of the reasons I've moved away from th...

Re: NTN/Alpine with inserts

There's been enough hours logged and time on swiss-cheesed (with inserts) skis to more or less discount any concerns with a ski snapping. Go look at TGR - plenty of examples, and I've been running inserted skis for 4+ years now. That is a concern with too many previous plugged holes, but in my own a...

Re: NTN/Alpine with inserts

I can't answer what works best, but know what currently works for me. I'm a Solly guy when it comes to alpine bindings, so have no clue on compatibility of Rossi's. My solo data point is that I've got NTN (old 6-hole metal plate pattern) and Salomon 912/916 (also out of production)... that I haven't...

Re: 7TM

They ski fine. The power version is a bit more active and probably HH 3-ish. Biggest problem is they're no longer made, so you'll be dealing with used bindings and not much for parts availability. I seem to remember some having toe-bar breakage problems - but I think those were the early ones - didn...

Re: Question about bindings

Depends on where you'd like to use the binding primarily. If just learning and mostly resort oriented, my vote would be for the 22-D Vice or the G3 Enzo R, just for the sole fact that you can easily adjust the pivot point to play around with different activity levels to find what you like/prefer. Th...

Re: NTN Freeride/Freedom plate compatibility

New black freerides will mount to any of the metal plates and the pink plastic plates. On the old TTips, most folks with orange freerides couldn't get them onto the new pink plates, except for *maybe* the last run of oranges. The hole patterns of the metal plates and pink plate are different. As not...

Re: Damage to top plate edges of ski

It's pretty common, and definitely not exclusive to NTN - you're likely noticing it more with the hippy's since they're wider than your supers (so the same stance width is more likely to make contact), and that era of K2s had notoriously soft top-sheets on the "team" skis (hippys, piste-pipes, AK's,...
