Re: Avalanche

The real issue is the complexity of the composition of the snowpack. If it were possible to know the composition of the snowpack in precise detail, all the way down to the ground, not just at one point but throughout the area that you are in, then it would be possible to accurately asses the true av...

Re: the beefiest?

funny you should mention that, because if were to go NNN-BC, that double boot idea is probably what I'd do. My thing is week-long tours, and I never got more than two days worth of dry boots back when I had leather. I am totally spoiled by plastic boots with thermofit liners for snow camping. a week...

Re: The First Crossing of Greenland

Inspired - when you finish that one you should pick up "Farthest North" whihc is the story of Nansen's expition in the Fram, getting intentionally frozen into the Artic pack ice and drfiting for a couple years in hopes of reaching the Pole. And then hopping off the ship for a sled dash towards the p...

Also - curious about your boot mods, and would love to see photos and hear about fabric and adhesives you are using to create your bellows.

Re: Franken binding idea

So just to clarify, it sounds like what you are after is in essence a binding that behaves like an NNN-BC with its toe bumper for K&G action, and also has the possibility of full free pivot? So you want tech pins, but can't have the normally positioned locking lever since that is where the bumper ne...

Re: Can we have a better XCD boot midsole?

Bcgregoire - i sold a boatload of those Asolo Superscouts, and i had a pair of the Voyageur pictured down below. A blast from the past for sure! I think we don't want a T4/Excursion in NNN-BC, we want a scarpa F1 race that is NNN-BC. Lighter, better range of ankle motion. Something that sits right i...
