Re: Mounting Location for Telemark Skis

I've been on various K2's for about 15 years. K2 always recommended pin line on chord center for their tele's. And they all skied (and ski) perfectly for me. However... all my experience has been skiing pre-rockered skis. For twin tips, and rockered skis when they started showing up, consensus settl...

Re: K2 Wayback 88 for Resort Ski

Here's a link to a good review: http://www.earnyourturns.com/6661/review-k2-wayback-skis/ I have no experience with the Wayback, but I've been on K2's for like 15 years or so - the old red Piste Stinx, the Super Stinx, and then (still) the World Piste's. All have skied really well for me. If I'm not...

Re: What do I need?

I'd look for a used binding first. Otherwise, Voile 3 pin cables are probably the least expensive ones new, and lots of folks use them for your type of skiing. I like BD 03's, but don't know what they sell for these days. G3's are another standard binding for your profile.

Re: What do I need?

You should have little to no problem mounting tele bindings to alpine skis. One exception is with some Atomics: they often have re-enforcement for the binding mount, but outside of that they're just soft foam and have no retention strength, should your binding placement end up there. Other than that...

Re: Not as Good as I Thought I Was..

Couple of things: I'm a big fan of skiing free heel with parallel's when conditions require. It works. Confirmed it many times over. As far as catching an edge (amplified by raising your hand)... often an issue of not really pressuring your skis the way you think you are. Been there, done it, and st...

When all is said and done... for "transportation"... it probably ain't gonna matter much. Except you'll get a little better grip. I've skied alongside follks when one was on a ligter fishcale set-up, the other on plastic boots and skins... truth be told: There ain't a whole lot of difference ( on wa...

Re: Rottefella Tele Release Plates

Never used them, but dealt with some during my ski tech years. Look to be very well made; should be effective for lateral release... don't recall if they have a forward release capacity. Personally- I favor (and ski) a release function with full on tele gear. Not much flex in plastic boots and a sol...

Anyone familiar with Merrell Fuzions?

Hoping for feedback on how they run size wise. Have a chance at a pair; I skied a pair once and really liked them, but forget which size they were. I'm definitely a 9.5, wondering if they're "true to size?
