So I finally actually went skiing for the first time, It was at Winter Park, Co I took a full day ski course and had a lot of fun. They were getting hammered with snow while I was there.

I bought that Toko Universal cold in bulk from Tognar, I've bought other tools etc from them, actually sitting here putting all my ski wax stuff in a cheap craftsman plastic tool box, lol .. I've ordered the Swix Polar, I guess it all depends on what kind of Winter Colorado/Wyoming gets this year as...

lilcliffy, Alpine Touring, Ski Mountaineering, ended up changing my setup to be able to use one pair of boots for Skiing and Mountaineering, I think I'm sorted now, I ended up ordering some Toko Universal Cold which is Hot wax for down to -22 , some Swix Polar kick wax for just in case, I've already...

So in my limited skiing knowledge, maybe I'm confused or something but I've noticed a lot of New Alpine touring skis have p-tex bases, is this a reverting back to waxing or am I missing something, if this is too off topic someone let me know.

I've seen numerous people posting of them breaking the Meidjo 2.0 or somehow pulling up the topsheet, well or the layers that are connected to the binding.

Thanks STG, I've looked into taking an AIARE Level 1 course, but haven't yet, I did read Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain, I'm good on Route finding, looking on Google earth helps also, you can spot run off areas on there. I usually do my homework on routes way beforehand. I always bring maps/comp...

STG, I was kind of wondering that myself, though by looking at the rain totals through the Months, February has the lowest amount of precipitation, not that weather in the mountains match up to what is forecast at lower elevation most the time , probably less likely to avalanche in February compared...
