Re: Books books books!
The fun of definitions I suppose.."Cross Country Downhill" can also mean just be ready to flop when you come to the breakable crusts, crud, deep heavy snow or really deep powder, and be ready to bounce on hardpack (not just found inbounds) if you insist on skiing on truly Cross Country gear.. Would ...

Re: Books books books!
Well, I think there's true BC, slogging-up-the-hill Alpine, and then there's true XCD.. and then there's some odd blend of thongs on Glittertinds dashing across 5 degree slope changes..But under any category and under appropriate circumstances, Anything goes !! I am such a heretic as to say T4's and...

Re: New Boots- Suggestions Needed
T-race! No ski or slope or condition inbounds or out it will not handle.. Yea, the are stiff if you are coming from most 3-buckle options-- and you have to adjust if you have knee issues also.. 75mm, not a tougher boot made! Pair 'em up with some 3pin Hardwires and forget all 700 pages of NTN blathe...

Re: Books books books!
I *love* ski books... I'm always looking for some good pre-bedtime literature. Here's a few classics I already have... Any suggestions for my next read? I'm not really into kids apres-ski beer-drinking tales or extreme skiing crap. I'm more into hermits, huts, philosophy, mountains and wilderness k...

Re: The NNN/BC Truth Thread
I think you hit the nails on the head re XC and BC gear, though I you seem to fail to mention the odd category of XCD which exists somewhere between the Nato ski types and skis perhaps suitable to the local sledding hills or golf courses..For example, I would never consider the Glittertind any sort ...

Re: THE GREATEST bindings debate on the planet (Official thr
do you have a pin-type binding mounted on a ski? No, but, as the bomb said "my memory is good on matters like these". push down on the boot so as to make the whole sole touch the ski.. You mean push the heel down those 2''? Watch how the duckbill behaves and when and where it "catches" against the ...
