Re: Altai Kom 162 vs 174

I have the Voile Traverse cable on the 162's and the Hardwire on the 174's but I could have gone with a cable. Regardless, both are great, and other bindings are great on this ski too, all comes down to personal preference. The cables and hardwires on the Voiles tuck behind the heel pad and get out ...

Re: New to Telemark, advice on skis please!

I guess it depends on what you're looking to do here... The Volkl and Dynsastar are both stiff hardpack oriented skis that are going to rip the Wisconsin hardpack, so that's good. They are also going to be a bear to really load up on the back/rear ski. That being said you have a pretty powerful setu...

Re: Thinner 75mm boot soles?

I'm resurrecting this topic. I just bought two pairs of Alaska 75mm, because they fit my feet so well. I have to get my calipers, but off my metric square ruler, my wife's are at 15mm and mine are 14mm. I was under the impression that Alpina beefed up the duckbill a few years ago and went thicker, f...

Just in case you come west, 2 of our local ski areas are on the pass, and some close road trip areas too.
Which ones? I bought this pass, wouldn't mind some beta/411/knowledge on some of the hills out there

Re: Transition from Telemark :(

Woodserson, from your icon, I see someone ripping with speed and great form. I won’t be trying to follow you downhill! I really like your comment about high tips — especially for skinning in deep snow. I'm flattered, but it's not me it's a random picture out of World Cup Ski Technique by James Majo...
