Re: Technique feedback thread - post a video.

Thanks, that is my lazy tele when I'm trying to save energy. I don't get very low, very upright stance. Seems to work well on mellow stuff. If I need to turn fast I usually put a lot of weight on the rear ski and get low, but that wears me out fast. Maybe I can learn to make hard, fast turns in a mo...

Re: Technique feedback thread - post a video.

Voile objectives with leathers today. I've developed a much more upright stance.

Re: Voile switchback and leathers

If you want a binding that switches from free pivot to ski mode, I realize the switchback is a lighter binding, but the axl is going to function a lot better with a leather boot. You could also try and find one of those free pivot g3 targas that aren't made anymore. Those rivas- do they give you sim...

Re: Telemark split-boarding

I'm also curious about that. My assumption is that they were mounting 3-pin bindings for touring and tele turns, then taking the split board bindings out of the pack for boarding. Similar to how hard boot split boarders are doing it with tech toe bindings.

Re: Solo Skiing

If the slope angle does not exceed 30 degrees and is not connected to steeper terrain above, then there is no chance of an avalanche occurring. I watch Tom's videos regularly and he does not appear to be exceeding 30 degrees and he is generally in more rolling terrain rather than big alpine terrain ...

Re: Brand new Fischer Excursion 88 for this year. Mount point? Cord center?

Pin line on balance point is the standard for nordic cambered skis. It's what every manufacturer recommends and that's the way any reputable ski shop will mount them if you don't specify otherwise. Some people do boot center on balance point for better turns, but that makes more sense for the s-boun...

Telemark split-boarding

Found a cool video about the voile split decision. It was designed for boarding or tele skiing.

Re: Voile switchback and leathers

The voile switchback is not very compatible with leather boots. The boot will twist around in the binding and possibly come out of the binding (happened to me a couple of times). Even if it doesn't come out, it just doesn't feel great having your boot twist in a rigid binding. The 22d AXL shouldn't ...

Re: Another waxing question (choosing waxes)

Snow was only sticking to the kick zone. I had swix polar on the kick zone and glide wax on the tips and tails.
