Re: Setting up Falketind 62s with NNN-BC
I have the FT Xplore in 196, I can assure you they kick and glide in both hardpack and soft snow. They may not kick and glide like my Gamme, but they do kick and glide surprisingly well. I’m sure you’re right as I’ve not tried it and you have. I’m not used to this kind of Nordic ski so maybe I shou...

Re: Setting up Falketind 62s with NNN-BC
Writing a quick update to this thread, as I started it: I went with the Voile 58 mm heel wire with NNN-BC mounted at the balance point of 188 cm new model (black) Falketind 62s, steered with Alpina Alaskas. I recently spent a few days skiing with this setup at Colorado resorts. First, the climbing (...

Re: DIY Heel Lift for Rottafella BC Magnum bindings
See here for what I'm doing: https://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=46987#p46987, this is just putting a Voile heel on with 58 mm wire. As you can see from that thread, the hard-asses will say you don't need a lifter, but I'm with you, it sounds nice for going directly up fall lines. I'm also ...

Re: Newbie wax and snow question
I think others have answered the wax question - a little bit of light powder sticking to the kickwax zone when you pick up the ski is normal in these conditions. IMHO it's because the snow is so damn light, and I doubt it was inhibiting your glide, you would have felt it if so. Usually that type of ...

Re: Setting up Falketind 62s with NNN-BC
Noted, good input. I haven't mounted my bindings yet but will probably just mount the Voile heel plate with the climbing wire. It looks, as you say, that it will certainly not harm anything (if being of debatable use). If nothing else, it gives me a solid wire loop to tie paracord to in case resort ...

Re: Yet another newbie "what skis should I buy" question
Nansen 190s arrived, bought Alpina 1600 from a shop here, waxed the skis this morning and tooled around with them for the first time, on my property and just briefly. Tomorrow will drive 5 min to the wilderness and ski the hiking trails for 3 hours or so. Initial impressions from someone who has on...

Re: Setting up Falketind 62s with NNN-BC
I ordered the older ones (green/white), not the new black top sheet ones.

Re: Setting up Falketind 62s with NNN-BC
Definitely noted on your all opinion that climbing bar isn't needed for leather boots and ski this light - but I want to push a little, are you saying that the Voile heel piece with e.g. 58 mm bar (flipped down) actually adversely effects the feel of the boot on the ski while downhill or striding? I...

Setting up Falketind 62s with NNN-BC
I am new to the forum - but have been reading interestedly for a while. It's time for my first post and question. By background I am a midwestern cross country skier (i.e. groomed tracks, marathons, really skinny skis) who recently discovered what is here called "xcd" skiing when I bought the Colema...
