Re: Which ski for heavy skier?

There are at least two online shops here in Norway listing it as available in 196 cm, one is in short supply while other says available. Several other shops does not list the length at all. I have no idea how many pairs are available and if more will be produced this winter or not, but I would perha...

Re: Xplore - now SkateX

Thanks, I saw something about it yesterday, but this video was much better. It is an interesting system. Seems superior in power/function for skating. I am more curious on snow packing and durability, but for competitions that might not be an issue.

Re: Crispi Futura Pro feedback.

Thanks. Matching boot and ski for conditions and personal preference is more important than what others mean. I am a bit surprised that you prefer the SB112/Futura Pro combination ahead of E88/Alaska BC for kick and glide, but on firmer snow with skis swimming a bit from side to side a better fittin...

Re: Which ski for heavy skier?

It sounds as you can just go Rabb. Both 188 and 196 cm should work well, and it depends if you want the a slightly more fun/maneuverable ski or slightly more support. The turning radius on Rabb is actually shorter than Falketind, so a 196 Rabb should turn faster than the Falketind you borrowed. I th...

Re: "You got old gear, man."

... 4 or 5 days a season will get you nowhere. You need to get on them 4 or 5 days a week. 1 day a week will help greatly, especially if some extra days/afternoons are mixed in. Ski lessons can also help you if can get them. A realistic schedule is better than some dreamy optimal schedule for maxim...

Re: Which ski for heavy skier?

Thanks for the picture Chriso . The camera angle could be deceiving, but Rabb seems significantly wider, more than the slightly less than 10% it is according to Asnes' web site with 97-62-86 vs. 104-68-94. When I measure on screen it seems that Rabb is ~20% wider at the tail than Falketind, so I wou...

Re: Xplore on Ice?

The forum became much nicer to follow after I added Manney, as the first and only, to my foe-list. The signal to noise ratio increased by at least 10 dB.

Re: 2022 Falketind 62 Xplore 196 cm First Impressions

Axel Bruun also has a deal on Falketind, and I think both deals are as good as you will get now. Late spring may be better, but not by much and selection will be less I believe. XXL is the wildcard, but I am not sure what the status is this year, and south of Norway have a better snow season so we w...

Re: Which ski for heavy skier?

...My E109 (or Ingstad) would probably have been a better choice for that tour... This is wery helpfull information! It is the trailbraking abilities of the Ingstad I think i might be missing if I went FTX. To clarify; it was on the broken trail going down, that the tips slowed me down due to sides...

Re: 2022 Falketind 62 Xplore 196 cm First Impressions

My E109 is from 2005 or so. Right- that is what I thought- pre "Xtralite" design with the soft and deeply rockered shovel. Correct me if I am wrong, but my memory is that your E109 has a more stable flex than the E109 Xtralite... I have no idea how the two versions of E109 compares and I am unsure ...
