Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots

Variety wise, I'm trying to make the most of the NN binding system and now own 3 pairs of boots. Down from just one pair of NNNBC boots 2 months ago. The NNN-BC Crispi Stetinds will be used for my Lundhags Skates and when we have winter guests on my older skis. I first got the Alico Ski March for 50...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Skins have been around for a long time and I remember seeing a set made from real seal skin. Awesome pictures! In Norway it is still possible to get skins made from real seal skin... Even for Åsnes short skin format! http://www.skifeller.no/ On Fjellforum there are reports of amazing glide with the...

Re: Asnes Combat NATO / Nansen 2-Part Pole Review

The strips of canvas holding the ring to the pole fail (They don't appear to be leather on mine, in contrast to the SWIX ones we switch to). We do use these ski poles for track skiing as well, and I cannot exclude that occasionally, we ski over each others baskets, so its not THAT surprising. So to ...

Re: Asnes Combat NATO / Nansen 2-Part Pole Review

My partner and I both use have Åsnes Spidsbergen Expedition poles, which are quite different from these but have the same baskets. The baskets are functional but not very durable, I did replace them by original ones but have now (after the third one broke) started replacing them with Swix baskets. T...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Amazingly, the past few weeks have seen an amazing dump of snow on central Norway. I went skiing a couple of hours in the back yard (there are better runs further away but I already switched to summer tires and the mountain roads are not always cleared). So we were skiing from 200m ASL upwards, on t...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Thanks for the tips Ben. It will certainly be nice to have the Alicos for reserve and downhill days, but for now I do not really trust them enough to take them on longer trips. It's probably best to resole both boots, considering they are likely to have a similar history. I doubt that there are chea...

Re: The most supportive leather 75mm boots commonly available now?

Well, as mentioned here https://telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1412&p=32377#p32377 the Alico Ski March boots are delaminating after one outing, and although I will attempt to fix them, I have decided to get Crispi Bre boots (good thing these are easy to find here). Here they are: IMG_20200516...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

Well, it appears that I am in the unlucky group of Ski March purchasers here after all. So, I normally wear size 46. I got UK size 12 / US size 13, with an extra insole they fit perfectly. The boots including shipping cost about the same as 4 beers in the Pub, in Norway. In this size they weigh abou...

Re: Alico Ski March Boot

I just noticed that my both pairs of Alico Ski Marches are defective. I have a pair of size 10 boots, where the other boot has a slightly wonky sole. It is twisted along it's longitudal axis. I also have a pair of size 9 boots, where the soles are not of equal length. I believe the actual boot is t...

Re: NNN v NNNBC for touring

Hello, The whole system of binding + boot, NNN is about half the weight of NNN-BC (depending on which boots you use) but it doesn't provide anywhere close to the amount of lateral and torsional stability. I have skied a couple of times in deeper snow with NNN and its manageable but more tiring than ...
