Re: Upgrading 75mm to XCD equipment?

If you eliminate the skiing lifts, I'd just get a Marker Alpinist tech binding. It's a good binding and can often be found at reasonable prices. Just put it on any ski you want. As for boots, you could use one of the hybrid ones you mentioned or if you wanted lighter there are lots of good options, ...

Re: Upgrading 75mm to XCD equipment?

IMO the best binding for alpine skiing both inbounds and out is the Shift. There is a 2cnd version out now that fixes a few quirks of the first. The first version had finicky adjustments for forward pressure and AFD height. If you are handy and check these adjustments regularly most people find it f...

Re: Alpine Touring boots on XC skis

I'm guessing the lack of bumper is not as applicable for kick and glide feel in unconsolidated snow.

Another is the poster who previously talked about this if someone want to look up his old posts.

I like the Obenauf’s products. Leather oil to restore old dried leathe and the Leather Preservative for waterproofing.

Re: Asolo Extreme Boots - Remove/Adjust Padding?

Is it the bottom of the arch if so above advice is good. If it is the side of your arch(navicular) a cobble can stretch it for you or you could buy a ball and ring stretcher and do it If it is the top[ of your arch(instep) skip lacing will fix it- https://www.loopkinglaces.com/blog/how-to-lace-shoes...

Re: Fischer Travers CS limitations?

Another thing to consider is Dynafit style bindings are not the safest inbounds. Used Alpine(not AT gear) is cheap.

Re: Vintage classic leather boots: Scarpa?

IIRC the Wasatch was like an Asolo Extreme but for normal to wider foot. The Extremes fit narrower. The Wasatch and Extreme were laterally stiffer than the Merrill Ultras.

Re: 3 Pin vs. Rotte Xplore

“ On the subjext of XP flexors-

I would like a medium flexor- in between the standard soft, and current hard flexor.”

I think this could be achieved by adding a few more holes or grinding out some material from the bottom of the hard flexor.

Re: Meadow skipping TTS

Thanks Fisheater, Put a lot of time into project, think I finally have a workable version. I would be happy with my 75mm if it wasn’t so tippy toe. For you guys that actually Telly, I have a similar front throw idea that would use a hammerhead spring that would provide a lote more spring travel. I’l...
