In case you've forgotten, Snowdome is on the northside of Mt Hood. Top black arrow points to its top, bottom arrow shows final patch of turns:

Flowers on the hike:

Views of the Eliot glacier on the skin:

Views of the NF Gullies for Sky:

Aaron at Snowdome's top with Rainier, Adams in the background:

Time to ski. My tracks in the corn:

Aaron skiing:

Me skiing. These photos are dedicated to Shan, who loves looking at poor quality pics of AT skiers, especially when they appear very far away:

(Yes I realize you can barely see me in the last photo, but doesn't the snow look great?)

Aaron hiking next to the Eliot to get to the final snowpatch:

Interesting seracs:

The tracks of our final turns:

One more flower photo:

This was a fun day and I plan to be much more pleasent on TTips now that I have skied. See you again in August, Snowdome!

PS: An important note about saftey:
Snowdome is part of the Eliot glacier complex and there are crevasses. It is important to always take glaciers seriously. That's why for saftey gear I brought a WAP enabled cell phone, so I could still post on TTips if I fell into a crevasse.

In addition you should never joke-around on glaciers. For example, don't stick your ski pole into a crevasse and yell, "Help, help! A Sasqautch is pulling me into a crevasse":

And Yes this photo is staged

Very Happy

I'm with Bob T. I spend yesterday learning about the sport of trail running or ultra, on dirt, occasionally fighting the way through downed timber on trails from winter slides and turn on the computer this morning to find someone has been skiing actual corn snow with pics and on big mtns in the northwest. supposedly having the worst snow year in the last twenty and the legs are sore from 30 miles of........

Yeah get a grip, man. Thanks for the pics.

OK, I'm beginning to get the whole love of Spring/Summer skiing thing. Only our season lasts about a month--or two, if you're dana and jonathan s.

Yet another in a great batch of warm-weather TRs! Thanks for sharing.

I thought it was snowdome in Alberta also. However nice pics. I missed not going to PNW for only second time in july in last 7 years.
Definetely looks like less snow than last year but good up on the Dome.

Damn you, GJ! I was planning on getting out there yesterday, but I got stuck at work. The soonest I can head out there to salvage some corn is in 2 weeks. Nice work!
