So.
I have been in the habit over the past couple years of helping ttipsters when they couldn’t post pictures, especially on the Dog Pics thread. I send a little private message with posting directions, offering to host pics if they needed it.
I’ve probably sent upwards of 30 people help messages (who wouldn’t? I really want to see those dogs!). Sometimes the PM goes unanswered. Sometimes I get a quick thanks. Still others lead to little conversations here and there.
Around about this time last year, I helped a young telefella post his doggie photos, and our quick thank you conversation got longer and longer … after a while we had to switch to e-mail. And after a few months, the phone seemed a better option. And a while later, we came up with this kooky idea of taking a month-long road trip together, hoping to meet up with loads of other kind ttipsters. Why not?
Somewhere on that trip, our friendship led to … well, I’ve heard we were a tad giddy on our little Telesafari, so what happened along the way was apparently obvious to those of you who met us. In fact, it’s possible it was so obvious that this news probably won’t shock you …
As of this past weekend, Andrew and I are engaged.
You know -- to be married.
Yes way!
A ttips first? Love in your PM inbox?
We met so many people on our journey who I'd love to deliver the news to personally, but I think that would take many many days. So, I guess this serves as our official announcement and huge thank you to all you guys, and everyone else in this amazing community.
I've been encouraging people all along to stop being shy and start PMing their ttips crushes (come on, you know you have at least one!). Are you listening now, folks? It only takes just one little message -- just do it! |

Run away! Run FAR away! Now! Before it's too late.
JK - Congrats to you both! My wife and I took a 4-month Euro holiday the summer before we got married and it was some of the best times of my life.

Oh MY GOD! How totally COOL!
I really had no idea. With all the little hints flying around here I was wondering what the heck was up. Doh!
Congrats to the both of you. What a terrific way to begin a relationship. If you can handle a month-long vacation together right off the bat--well, you've got a lot going for you!
Thanks for sharing!

Good for you, congrats.
Have you seen the commercial that just came out with a couple getting married and they have 2 of everything? And all of HIS stuff gets tossed? My wife thought that was very funny cause when we got together we were combining two households. Luckily our furniture matched (shaker/light mission) so it wasn't an issue. And when the wookie goes off to college next year he'll have a complete kitchen to take with him. Dishes, pots, pans, silverware, microwave, the works.
So, when is the date? |
