a late great friend jon vanwie playing a steve morse tune "on the pipe" on a live recording of a gig in '93...
He was the most regular kind of guy you could ever meet....missed by many for his playing and his soulful presence..... _________________ the fall line is your friend.... resistance is futile |

Electric: Robbie Robertson on Unfaithful Servant from the Band's live album Rock of Ages. (Bonus points for Garth's sax solo that flows perfectly from the end)
Acoustic: Tony Rice, Key Signator off the David Grisman Quintet's DGQ20 retrospective.
Honorable Mentions -
Electric - Jerry Garcia, Crazy Fingers, One from the Vault;
Acoustic: Tony Rice again, Thailand from this Grisman Quintet Bootleg I have (Bonus points for Grisman's killer mandolin solo coming out of the end) |

Tom Verlaine, on Marquee Moon.

Tom's is the second solo. Richard Lloyd's solo is great too. The interplay between Verlaine and Lloyd on this song and all of Television's work is really cool.
