So here is where I am headed.
I ordered these yesterday
The 18 oz Mug
The 2 0z shot glass
So I am going to start with these. I am thinking about a Bomber Bishop type toe bale and a cable around the heel tensioned with a ski boot cam buckle. Probably will need a base plate.
Thank you for the additional ideas. I am going bigger than gluing on koozies, for this project. But I do like the cleanness of using magnets. I am thinking and old ski with some real metal in it may make a good base upon which to attach glasses with magnets for on the hill fun someday.
I will get the mugs in and do some experimentation on other older skis. I will be back with trip reports and photos.
And speaking of Jagermeister. Last winter when the Shotz Skis crew and the Ski Patrol crew meet up for some shot-ski-offs their Jager and our Ullr got all mixed up, and in the drunken haze Ullrmeister was conceived.

So shop has been cleaned up and is ready for summer projects. The ski project is on the table. Here is a photo showing where this project is going right now.
I am thinking of using a fixed toe bale on a plate similar to the Bomber toe bale.
Then a Buckle from a ski boot out front attached to some wire for a heel loop. The heel loop will probably go under a midfoot catch like a bear trap to keep the heel down, for the 18oz mugs.
I am curious and tempted to try and dremmel off the handles . It would be preferable assuming I can replicate the glazing in the ground spots.
