You guys have a knack for this. A refreshing change from the Warren Miller hero stuff.

Funny (strange) how sometimes all it takes is a short video and some music....and I grow melancholy thinking about my youthful days in the Wind River Range teaching NOLS courses.

In a week or two the first of the summer mountaineering courses will start and the students, like I was at one time, will find themselves on a new path in their lives and the experience of the late spring/early summer in the mountains will last a lifetime. Change is the basic structure of nature, and they will experience it in full.

The bitter cold above timberline after bagging a peak or crossing a pass, is felt in body and soul with the contrast of the retreat to the lower elevations and green meadows with the scent of the flowers and pines. And it is these feelings that are branded on the brain. Though changing, the mountains don't change in that respect....

I'll celebrate 60 years on the planet in a couple of weeks and it is good to know that you younger guys are gettin' out there and
doin' it.

Thanks for the post and the video/pix.

Good medicine,
Waco

Again a nice ski video! Trying to convice a few people to maybe make a ski trip to Poland/Tatra mtns next year if not too expensive. Hopefully it would be a year of snow.
