This whole debate is anything but an honest criticism. Keeping the president and the first lady alive is an expensive national security exercise, framing it as some expensive trip is just idiotic. Michelle Obama doesn't receive anything personally by having her security on site and plan every move of her vacation (aside from staying alive).
The propagandists on the right have proven that they will repeat any false talking point if it will resonate with their base. From claiming that Clinton murdered Vince Foster to saying that Obama was born in Kenya, they are just using whatever will stick. There have been decades of racial propaganda in this country from Willy Horton to "welfare queens" to hundreds of racial stereotypes on TV and movies and many other sources. The right is just plugging into that same "welfare queen" meme, after all black people just live off of welfare. The Bush's were just rich benefactors who deserved to take vacations as they pleased, but the Obama's are just sucking off the government teat. _________________

There is no inconsistency with my statement. Micheal Moore thought that Bush was an intellectual lightweight who was making terrible choices for the country and used footage of Bush reading My Pet Goat while the towers were falling to illustrate his point. His documentary style is hamfisted, and overly stresses many points making them inaccurate. However when it is all said and done he was correct about all of his major points, namely that Bush was dishonest (or at best stupid) about the start of the Iraq war and that Bush was a failure as president.
What he didn't do was accuse Bush of murdering a lawyer, stealing money from a Savings and Loan, being Muslim, being born in Kenya, etc..
A few people accused Bush of orchestrating 9-11 and blowing up the towers (but they also accused the "jews" and the Catholic church of it as well).
