After looking at the Voile website you are going to be stuck with the Hardwires due to the funky release part in front of the duck bill and the 3 hole pattern. The 3 pin version is more active but I think that is what you have.

I'm as big a fan as ever of Voile equipment. But I also think if you are thinking outside the box about what bindings you can marry to a Voile release system, the current crop of touring tele bindings have too much junk up front that is in the way of the release mechanism. Making an adapter to combine different hole patterns is not too big a deal, but having to mount a binding with a tour mode switch in front gets too contrived for me to consider doing it myself.
If you really want to think outside the box, somebody a few years ago took a 7TM and cut the sidewalls off the binding plate, then welded an adapter for some other binding onto it. I can't remember which binding but think it may even have been a Hammerhead. With enough rise, the spring clears the lower profile release housing on the 7TM.
Or just get 7TM or NTN and be done with all the frankenbinders. _________________ that sounds like a sure-fire way to get bitch-slapped by devil's club -- dschane

I agree with cesare. I will never tour with a non tour mode binding again.
I think the Cobra R-8 is one of the most underrated bindings ever. I skied them for years and so did my son because you could get them for nothing used. I thought they were moderately active but can 't compare since the only CRB binding I have ever skied was the 3 pin cable with CRB for several years but that was 10-15 years ago.
My gut feeling is it would not be worth it to upgrade from 3 pin hardwires to the Cobra.
Yea, probably just easier to use the stiffest cartridges that come in in the Voile lineup now --the black from the switchbacks ? Of course all the voile cartridges are stiffer than the springy cables in the 3pc, though I still ski the 3pc even @ the lifts now and then _________________ Speak and remove all doubt..
