You have to admire the way trolldrifter11 issues an ad hominem attack on one page....

Yes, quite the manipulative little troll. It's pathetic the number of threads he's C'd up, each time going nuclear and foul over this most inane ski minutia ever, his beloved DPP! This cat will never change his spots.
Sorry Mary, you deserved better. _________________ Get It Done
Welcome to the forum where you are not really a member until you've had at least one of your threads ruined by whatever the guy is calling himself after his latest banning.
Obviously this wobble is something you should talk to your instructor about next time you take a lesson, however the advice to work on your pole plants is sound. This was probably the single biggest breakthrough I had in learning to ski. Everything started to come together when my poling improved, the timing, the rhythm, all of it.

Wow!! ya gotta be kiddin, non? I could not
agree more! She does
deserve better than to
have to read the C-word in
the context of your heartfelt
concerns and suggestions!
The level of misogynistic
and homophobic expression
tolerated in this forum is truly
alarming and certainly not
something I enjoy reading, nor is it
something I lower myself to engage in,
whatever my weakness for getting sucked into
flame wars..
In any case, Mary's
wobble may indeed be easily cured
by going back to green slopes
where she can practice no-pole turns while
exaggerating shin and foot pressure
on the side that wobbles.. _________________ Speak and remove all doubt..

Hey Mary, welcome to Ttips. There's a lot of good people and helpful advise here. There's some blather too.
It's pretty impossible to diagnose "wobble" issues without being on the snow with you and seeing the totality of your turn mechanics... Some issues have multiple flaws that are the cause. A good teacher observes what you do well naturally and also what you do poorly and strengthens your technique by helping you improve your weaknesses.
a few ideas:
find a slope that allows you to go fast enough to make the turn mechanics work, but not so fast that you are skiing defensively. Too flat a pitch doesn't allow you to feel the dynamics of the turn. Too steep a pitch and it all happens too fast for your present skill level and you just continually crash and burn which teaches you nothing.
As you progress and have breakthroughs improving your technique, yesterday's challenging slope will soon seem easy. At first avoid bumpy slopes and manky snow conditions because they will add extra challenges that you don't need to have until you get your "groomer" skills down solidly....
Girls all seem to love to dance. (men, not so much) tele is more like dancing than alpine skiing. You need to link your turns together and feel one turn flow into the next....
...anyway, remember it should be fun.... _________________ the fall line is your friend.... resistance is futile

Like I said yesterday, you are the worst kind of internet poster. You don't get sucked into flame wars, you start them, just like you did here, pages back, in your very first post on double pole plants, the one where you preemptively called anyone who might dare disagree with you "fools." That's how this thread got C-rapped up, and once again, look who's at the source, PFroncole/VDrifter11.

WW, you're new around here so maybe you don't realize that he's been kicked off multiple ski forums, including Ttips and TGR, multiple times. My guess is he'll be dealt with appropriately (once more) for C-rapping all over yet another otherwise positive Ttips thread. It's really weird that so often it's over the strangest issue, I mean who really gives a rat's ass about double pole plants anyway? Enough to start stupid flame wars on sweet threads like this one? Really? Totally bizzaro.
This is not rocket science, correct use of your ski poles will enhance your turns, as well as help maintain balance and strengthen your technique. No poling, or incorrect use of your poles, will mess up your balance, timing and rhythm. Learn to use your poles and your balance and edging is sure to improve.

Dear vdrifter:
I would like to tell you a true story.
In my work, there are one or two issues where I disagree with the vast majority of my colleagues. The issues have been discussed many times, and each time I remain in the minority. Usually a minority of one.
I believe in my heart of hearts that I am right, and they are wrong. Why they are wrong I don't know -- I suspect too much lead as kids?
When these issues come up at work you know what I do? I shut the F up. Because it doesn't do anyone any good to rehash the same discussion. And because if I do, it discredits my opinion on other issues, where I might actually make headway.
I'm still right. And privately I bask in the glow of my superior intellect and wisdom. But I shut the F up about it.
Now, try re-reading this post and replace the word "work" with "telemarktips", and the words "me/my/I" with "vdrifter11".
Next time you feel the urge to post about DPP, try to just walk away from the keyboard, grab a cup of coffee, and sit for a few minutes smugly smiling to yourself about how you are not only smarter but also the better person. It works for me.
