Just got a pair of used Prophets, I like the Laces on the liner!
Hey at what temp and for how long?
I do have a convection oven.
I know for Crispi boots the temps are 190-220F and only for 7-8 mins.

around 210 F. I like to get the oven up to temp, then turn it off completely & stick the liners in for about 10 minutes.

have a piece of wood at least an inch thick on the floor, which you can then stand on with your boots (i.e. place wood under the toe/BOF area of your foot) so that your heel is well-nestled in the heel pocket while the liners are cooling off.

prior to baking, establish how much compression of the foam you are looking for. if looking to maintain the thickness/volume of the foam, then buckle quite loosely during the molding. if you have a tight shell fit, and are really looking to compress the foam especially in the front half of the liner, then a) use a neoprene cap and/or foam spacers between your toes b) crank the buckles fairly tight.

right after inserting the liner and inserting your foot, make sure to tug upward on the front and rear of the liner so that it's well above the plastic boot shell, and is not wrinkling up inside the boot.

some prefer to put the insole on the foot directly, and then put the sock over it. others prefer to insert the insole into the liner right out of the oven.

HS,
Good luck with your Prophets... I just bought a replacement set of Intuition Pro Tour liners for my Prophets. They are the lace up ones, with a separate tongue.
The original Garmont liner was packed out a bit (after one year), and I really didn't have a tight fit around the heel. My feet were sliding forward, in the liner and I was getting toe bang. The boot fitter, at GearX today agreed I am in the proper shell size, a 28.
I wore a very thin nylon stocking, with toe caps in the sock for the fitting. My Superfeet Kork footbeds were dropped in the new, heated liners, before we loosely tightened the buckles

So I hope these expensive Intuition liners, (bought new today) will make my Prophet a comfortable/warm/tight flitting boot again..

I would try the rice method first.

Then go the oven route.

That looks like a good alt to baking them.
I took a look at big tims video and thought that the temps that tim used to be a tad high.
I have cooked Intu liners at 210F for 7-8 mins with great results...now to find some EC snow (thinking Sugar Bush mid week) to test out the Prophets VS the EVO's(waaaaaay stiff) even for my large frame!

Cham I hope that you get Sn*wed on! Cool

The Baking went off without a hitch!
Padded out the hot spots on my feet, Caped the toe(gangsta style) cooked the liners @210f for 7mins.
Lifted the toes 1 3/4 ", settled into the heel pocket and BAM Ummm cumfy...next week I will test them VS my Crispi Evos and the looser gets sold!

I have the same evo/prophet boot combo, but wouldn't sell either pair.

My crispi's are resort only boots. I toured with them briefly before I bought my prophets. They are way too stiff and heavy to tour in.

The prophets are noticeably less powerful than the Evo's, but are still powerful enough to ski anywhere albeit they take more skier effort to drive a big ski. The prophets are soft enough to tour like a dream but stiffen up nicely when I buckle them for the ride "down".

If I had to pick only one boot, I would pick the prophets because their versitility...

No doubt driving big skis aggressively is easier with the Evo's, but they just aren't great touring boots.

Cham, I hope the new liners help your prophets out. I love my prophets. They are a much better boot with the wrap style liner IMO... (at some point, I am going to have to try the rapid liners again, just to re test them) I look forward to hearing your impressions with the new liner...

i also really like my Evo's for resort, side-country days. the long-term durability on 'em is outstanding. beefy buckles, beefy cable (unlike Scarpa)...it's a boot built for the long haul.

but on longish tours, the stiffness and limited cuff range of motion starts to get old.

prophets (owned 2 pairs) never fit me feet quite right, but that's a really nice do-it-all boot that can drive most any ski.

my tx comps are working out very well as a backcountry boot. and work very well in the resort when paired to moderately stiff, mid-weight skis. however the boot is not a great match for a 197 katana or other heavyweight ski. Upper cuff is thin and quite flexy compared to a Prophet, let alone an Evo. OTOH it is lighter than the Prophet in terms of shell weight.

I agree. Yesterday was the first day on my Evos where they did not throw me off and I was very glad to have them. I really like the fit and feel of the upper part of the Evo. The lowers are still a bit to loose for me and I hope the intuition liners I just ordered will help solve this problem.

Sounds like everyone is having to retrofit their boots (Evos and Prophets) with Intuition liners..

Skied in my new Intuition liners, (Prophets) today on some steep, icy/corn snow runs. No toe jam in the front of the boot, which was nice. Much tighter fit around the ankles. I had all the buckles a bit lose too..
The Prophet is a great boot, just hope this new liner will fix the fit problems Cool

I have Scarpa Tx/Tx Comps, and Evos, and never felt the need to use Intuition liners in the Evos.
