This program is an outgrowth of the Washington Alpine Club's Wednesday night instruction series -- this workshop offers steep terrain and conditions not availible in the weeknight program.

Description: Weekend intensive session to help you master Alpental’s steep and ungroomed terrain. Instruction will be by high level PSIA instructors with extensive Alpental experience Over the course of the weekend, classes will cover the expert terrain on the upper chair and into the backcountry – (conditions permitting) Alpental Pro Patrol will supervise entry into the backcountry. To enter the backcountry students will need to review Alpental’s Backcountry Safety page http://www.summitatsnoqualmie.com/Mountains/Safety/859/Backcountry-Safety Students will need avalanche safety equipment (beacon, shovel, probe) and have the equivalent to avalanche awareness and companion rescue training to go through Alpental’s backcountry gate.
