My 14 y/o is currently a US size 12 shoe. I have a line on some Dynafit Zzeus boots at US size 12.

I do not think that his feet are done growing. What has been folks' success in using thermo-moldable liners to squeeze up to a larger size?

age 14,.... don't waste your money buying boots. Rent them from a ski shop for the season. If they get too tight over the course of the season, you can go into the shop you rented from and exchange them for the next size. My sister does that with her teenagers precisely because their feet grow so fast that buying is a waste of money.

Unfortunately, there aren't local stores with annual rental programs in the area. We've survived this far with thrift store gear. He used my old bondage boots last year but has since outgrown them.
The hope is that his feet only have another inch at most to grow. At 5'10" with size 12 shoes the boy has a ways to go before he grows into those feet. I teased him that he doesn't need skis, we can bond some edges on his Addidas.

Any boot shell can be punched out in various ways to gain space. That might help for this year.

Sounds like he is getting big enough that you can save $$ on the larger size boots that can be had on sale. If you get him some over sized shells then you could use the bake liners in conjuction with insole shims and the like to have a boot that would work and still have room to grow.

Edit to ad, some not all Dfit boots run small, check the BSL. The old Scarpa AT boots are roomy as all get out and could be had fairly cheap.
