Noel Spring is located directly east of Hull, above Stony Gorge.
Just north of Snow Mountain, near Sheet Iron Mountain. On an eastern aspect.

Posted: Wed Apr 04, 2012 1:36 am Post subject: Boardman Ridge Closure |
|
|
They have started a seasonal closure. From Dec. 1 - May 1. There is a sign at the bottom of Boardman Ridge saying ROAD CLOSED.
A piece of paper below it states that the road is only for land owners accessing their land and Gov. officials, firefighters, etc.
$5000 fine and/or 6 months in jail for poaching the road with a vehicle.
I went exploring for another/more access points. I wish I had brought some maps.
At the bottom of Boardman Ridge, I drove down the M6 into the Game Refuge.
I've never been there before. I know some of the ridges on Hull go off in that direction. I drove for 11.3 miles and took a left on a road with an open gate. 5 more miles and I hit too much snow @ 4000'. I think I was out by High Point. Saw a big, huge outcropping of rock. I think I was heading up the road that leads to the bottom of the Hullbacks. Panther Ridge.
It's too far. I need to get to Hullaska Ridge/OB Bowl area.
I saw the road 19N50, right at the Penny Pines fire area. I had a feeling about that road, even without a map.
When I got home, I checked Google Earth and topo maps and found that road 19N50 leads to a ridge that leads into Hullaska Ridge.
I was running out of gas, so I didn't try driving up it. But I need to find a legal way to access Hull so I can continue to post TR's.
Sucks! But I think there is a way to get a Jeep in there close. Right by Little Round Mt., when the M6 goes up high, over the Eel River - right after the TH to Bloody Rock/Snow Mt. That's where 19N50 takes off.
60 extra miles of 4 wheeling today. Maps will be taken next week.
I got some photos of the new terrain today. New entry point will be found. There are three possibilities. Forest Service Road 19N50 is the key...
Fight like Hull.
