Most likely. There were a TON of people there yesterday. By 5 it was a wall to wall mogul field. That picture looks like more snow than there is. The first narrower section in that show had rocks poking through all the way across by the end of the day. That part will for sure be broken in a day or so. Keep your fingers crossed for not much more rain and cooler temps this week to slow things down. I need another day up there. _________________ Bite off more than you can chew...and then chew like hell. |

Here's a couple to give you an idea. This first one is at 5pm after we went back over to get a couple more runs. Nice bumps!
Here's one showing the section that was quickly breaking up. This was smooth with no signs of rocks at 9am. This is what it looked like at 5pm.
Here's one from the Gulf side of Space Walk. It only went as far as were I took this shot from.

3 consecutive turns makes for a short hike back up
Probably going to be pathetically short vert Memorial Day w/e. But any is better than none! It will be next year before I can hike for turns...or rather, hike back down after getting turns. _________________ "Moderate is not the new Low" - Chris Joosen, USFS Lead Snow Ranger (Tuckerman Ravine, White Mountains National Forest) |

Just want to note, although it looks pretty good conditions wise, there was a lot of editing to make things look continuous. Airplane and Space walk do not go. _________________ Bite off more than you can chew...and then chew like hell. |

| Thankfully, the Rangers were finally able to remove the body of the fallen hiker in Tux. I'm glad I didn't ski there this year with that ongoing situation. +Vibes to the family. RIP sir. |

The rangers are not saying much about it yet, but I know it had to be a tough deal to manage that recovery. All the best to them and condolence to the next of kin.

Very glad they could recover him finally. Have to admit that I would see TRs from the Ravine and every time thought about him.
Peace to his family. |

Likewise glad to hear of this for closure's sake. Much RIP sympathy to family, friends, recovery personnel, and of course Mr. Priebatsch.
Really woke me up that dying in the mountains and waiting until Spring for body recovery has got to be extremely trying for family and friends. Even with no emotional stake, I was haunted by a grim visualization of darkness and icy runoff. Actually knowing him would obviously amplify that.
Peace. |

Was up in the Bowl yesterday. Not much left. Better get there soon if you want those last turns.
The Bowl.
Looking at Sluice.
Chute and the bush whack into Left Gully
Left Gully from the bottom of the snow.
Left Gully from the top of the snow.

The black flies are out: went for a hike today. (Worcester via the Skyline trail)
I've been meaning to do this one for a long time, and just got around to it. Definitely nice and definitely pretty different than the other half, which heads towards Hunger.
The trail is, well, pretty primitive and I love it.

Nice shot Sawyer. Here are some more along those lines from a hike with the dogs scoping skiable gullies on this ridge. I nicknamed the game trail that runs on the crest the "QMMP" for quartz, moss, and moose poop.
An old friend looms in the distance.
Flora.
Fauna.
Geo.
Bear cave! Note scratched pines.
Be it ever so humble, this seems to be the only gully that isn't impossibly tree choked. Nice 45 degree tilt up above this. Bailed before I got to the top because the dogs weren't happy that I was cheating by hanging onto roots, but I'm pretty sure it goes.
Traverse out to the WMD zone.
Crashed puppy.

@BobT, love the shot of the dog.
From our hike on Memorial Day weekend. Up Howkers Ridge on Madison, over Pine Link and the down (dear land, what *were* we thinking and I really should have remembered to wear my knee brace when we went down) Watson Path. Looking west to Adams, we could see that Great Gully was still holding snow. A lot more than what we could see in Great Gulf (from the top of Madison).
