Alright...I'm all worked up now.

For those who are auditory and visual...how about a whole show to watch? Yeah? Ok:

RFK, 6/14/91

*I was never a real Hornsby or Welnick fan...but the Cold Rain and Snow opener is actually good.

"Bruce once left his accordion in his car while he ran into a store for some smokes. He came out to find one of the windows smashed - and another accordion on his back seat. True story. "

I wish there was more LOM available to listen to - either through d'l or purchase! I have the discs released a few year back as part of some Jerry Garcia collection release series, which is AWESOME, a really cool 2-disc collection that I downloaded a few years back called "Dick's Gift", and a few shows on cassette.

There's a ton of it legally available out there on bittorrent sharing sites.

Here's a bunch on bt.etree.org:
http://bt.etree.org/?searchsss=legion+of+mary&cat=74

All you need is a bittorrent client, like Utorrent; and some FLAC playback/conversion software, like Mediamonkey.

I agree that Legion of Mary was one of Jerry's best projects, although 72-74 Garcia/Saunders and 77-78 & 80-81 JGB were pretty amazing too.

Since this thread is, "This day in Grateful Dead history", I apologize for the previous thread drift.

And for the messages about Bobby Weir, yeah- I get it. The short-shorts are....goofy.

But he's Bob freakin' Weir. Qualified Immunity granted.

So let's head to the Grateful Dead's favourite venues, the Greek at Berkeley, CA, Spring Tour, 1983:

Smokin' Cold Rain and snow and The Other One....and an 18 minute Eyes.

I have not yet delved into the bt world - might need to check it out one of these days. Used to use 'furthurnet" but then LMA came along, so that is where I have going for d'ls, primarily. But for some shows and bands like LoM, it sounds like bt may be the best game in town, short of the old fashioned b-n-p. Thanks for the link and drawing my attention to this source - `tis appreciated.

cheers!

Great choice on the '83. Opening with A Touch of Grey 4 years before In the Dark was released shows confidence.

*This was the first weekend Bucket and Touch were ever played- they sound a bit....um....unrehearsed and fast...

And the birthday treat was good, too- Healy did help us enjoy what you just listened to.

And that is cool.

PS- Notice the timeline of members....DJG years are in black.

Some great stuff posted over the past few days Cool !

The 5-14-74 and 5-15-83 shows have been particularly enjoyable., but haven't gotten to the 5-15-77 show yet. The 5-15 Greek show is actually a pretty listenable audience, as well.

Cheers!
