This has been probably asked several times...but anyway

I am an old mogul skier (36) that also snowboarded quite alot in the 90s. So, I have spent my fare share in the park, and hit even some quite big kickers (60-70 feet or so). I still like to go in the park and do some non-technical stuff (3's, 1's, switch 1's on small hits, occasional 5, grabs, easy presses, some "bonks" etc.)

For a couple of last seasons I have been quite hooked on the tele turn. Even so that I have spent more and more time "just" turning, learning the basics and the feel of the t-turn. (it is quite addictive, damn!Smile)

However, last spring I started to venture into park with teles and even hit some middle size hits, tried 3's etc. I was on my Hippy Stinx (179cm) and R8's.

Last summer I got myself a very cheap pair of Karhu Agent Freeheels (in plastic, the 86mm middle version) - I thought this would be my "park set-up" (and better for groomer skiing on our molehills than the K2s anyway). By intuition I choosed the releseable bindings for them, you know old mogul skier's knees...Voile Hardwire CRB's.

And here is the problem...the bindings felt quite a bit more neutral and non-sturdy (is that a word?) than the R8s. I've been getting used to them for turns already but when hitting kickers they just somehow feel wrong/very difficult...so I am pondering would the pivot point of the cable make a difference? When in R8s you feel like you have more alpine like support and it is not that easy to loose balance. I am especially afraid of going too much forward and that kind of resulting an unwanted front flip...Smile

With Voiles I feel I have to stand just perfectly on the skis when hitting kickers, and that leads me hesitating from the bigger hits (>~30 feet or so of flat).

Any opinions? I am thinking of getting the NTN system anyway next year...selling current two pair of teleskis, getting rid of the 75mm and maybe getting just one pair of rockered all-mountain skis (Shoguns, Rossi S3's or similars).

I have a big problem with most cable/cartridge bindings in the park...They're loose and floppy, and during a day, become looser and floppier...they just scare me...

I'm a huge advocate for Bomber Bindings but they've become a collectors item of sorts..

I think my next choice would be the NtN, but I haven't skied them...I know a couple guys who love them in the park, but I'm still skeptical..Seems like the HHs would be a good option as well...

Bindings make the single biggest difference in telemark skiing, especially park, so if at all possible ski em all and choose what suits you best.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.
I guess I have to try to meet up some more local tele-skiers and just swap skis for a while. (And there is one ok demo-event around too)

Smile Going there strongly...(although I just got a new alpine set-up for park/allmountain too...K2 Extremes with Jester Schizos...pretty stoked on that too, gotta admit)

Overall I like the feel of NTN better than HH for the park. Buttering with NTN feels smoother than HH.
