Not my boot....

It was the guys first day out on the boots.

Old Bindings, Blue Springs at 4. On K2 P.E.

Not 100% on how exactly it happened.

Perhaps a bad batch of plastic? Or a phantom boot?

His other boot was fine.

Did your friend notice anything different/odd about how the boot or boots felt while skiing?

Not trying to point to any specific causation (likely just an outlier) but some of the hyper flexing of the TX boots posted lately sure makes me go hmmm.

Wow, having broken a few alpine boots racing freestyle, control just goes out the window. He probably had an adventure getting down? I guess the good news it is super early season. So there probably wasn't anything more than meadow skipping groomers anyway.

Is it me or does it look like the bellows took an impact of some sore? Or is that dimple the result of the cracks terminus being in an area that flexed after the crack happened? Either way that is a big bummer and hopefully just a phantom occurrence???

You see old old boots crack like that but not something that new. Sure would like to know why they busted.

He felt the boot "get softer". He skied the to the bottom (Killington). Amazingly, he did not notice the cracks until I pointed them out.

..

The dimple in the bellows is not an impact point. It certainly looks like one though. I think rileybri explained it best " that dimple the result of the cracks terminus being in an area that flexed after the crack happened"
