Im 5'6.
Weigh about 165 but I ski with a pack on (add 15 to the total?)

I ski a 179

Its HEAVY....

I couldnt see going longer. Shorter *might* be nice in the trees, but since all my ALPINE friends wont follow me in the trees ("too tight" they say - this is Jackson Hole, not Mad River - not such thing as too tight) I guess they are "short" enuff Smile

the hippy stinx is the 04/05 seth pistol with different topsheet and ptex graphics
also the tele screw inserts

i'm kinda surprised you can't get the hippies in 159 like the pistols... the midget faction must be in an uproar Wink

that is all.

I HATE these skis...

I have never skied so fast and danger on any other skis!

I scared myself silly barreling down runs at Jackson at warp speeds and then bashing through the trees. All I saw were snowboard tracks - no skis.

The skis dont turn - they just go. Its like yer brain thinks "turn there" and there ya go... It means that NOW I have to ski 30' to 40' ahead of where I used to look.

Rocks, stups, 4' hucks - all mean NOTHING to these skis - they just go right over em and keep going...

These skis are gonna KILLL me!!!!!

195#
6'
189cm

Great ski...just got to cut those damn tails off..... Shocked

It really depends on how you ski. If you ski very very fast and aggressive get the long ones. If you see yourself in tight trees go shorter. I would think the 179 would work well at 171# unless you really rip and like letting it go....

I'm 5'6" and I ski the 169 Seth Pistol. They are WAY SWEET. My friend who is ~6'4" just got the 189 Pistols. His wife who is about my size also skis the 169. We all seem to enjoy our skis a little too much Wink Those skis are wide enough that you can go pretty short. And it’s nice having short skis for the trees.

175# / 6' 1" tall and ski the 189 cm Hippies.
The length and size is reasonable to ski but the weight at 10 lbs unmounted (13.38 lbs. with O2 bindings) is a bit heavy to lug uphill in the backcountry IMO.

If it weren't for my poor performance in the bedroom, my addiction to Cialis and some psychological stuff, I would have gone with the 179 cm skis.

Like ewong said, you'll ski like an A-hole with these planks but if you are riding mostly lift-served areas, the weight won't matter that much unless you are hucking big air.
