perhaps the hacker who upset things was pissed because of too many trip reports about his/her secert stash.
or
perhaps some of the egotists were exposed as egotists and needed to reduce the exposure?????? |

Well,
if the person was upset about that... then they simply should spend more time out there (maybe looking for new terrain), and less time hacking into people systems! I do some systems admin work myself... and I doubt it's an easy task to take over a web-server like that!
must have too much time on their hands. |

What's the point in viewing a website like this if you can't look at some photos of people having fun?
I find Tr's more entertaining than reading mags, watching videos, etc., because they are real. Not some bullshit bluebird day with a photog standing around all day to get one shot that looks 'pretty'. Or a helicopter flying overhead filming some sicko in AK. Yeah it's amusing, but it's not reality for the most of us.
Bring on the TR's!!!! Or should we just talk about politics? |

I wouldn't suspect Maynard. I mean taking all those classes and spending so much time in computergeekesse would cut way too much into the ski time. Not to mention what it would do to the overall vibe. I mean really now.
Now if you consider some of the more shadier folks around here, one could write a dissertation on culpability. Has anyone heard from SHLTB lately? I'm thinking its has got something to do with the DIA, or that data shairing pet shark of his. _________________ ~km

Visited a prominent poster's favorite drainage this weekend. It's never been mentioned by name in any TR on any board (although pictures have been posted). Know what I saw? "Heaven" so tracked out it looked more like hell. Must be all that keeping quiet on TTips that made it that way. Taking large groups to "secret stashes" does way more harm than any TR ever could. A group of 5-8 doing multiple laps in and of themselves can track a hill out. Add to the initial group all the tourers they bring back w/ them on subsequent trips and "word of mouth" becomes much more dangerous than the occasional TR. Seems like some not only don't want to share the terrain w/ hedonistic heli skiers, they want to keep out our fellow tourers as well.
On a side note I was able to find a lengthy untracked line (which is usually the case, even in Wasangeles) on a hill that was for the most part skied out before the heli could get to it. |

Hey, not all the mag articles are as you describe. There's a lot of good stuff in Backcountry, Couloir, Telemark, Off Piste etc. |
