That was probably a little flipant...
Safety is clearly paramount, but the "rules" have to be applied rationally. I can see this discussion if someone is trying to get
back to the ridge in Days Fork, and another party that just arrived from Alta jumps in. But on Shortswing? If you're on an established skin track and you're uncomfortable with people above you, it would be really easy to put a in a new skin track that isn't exposed to avalanches. Most of the hill is like that. In fact, on Shortswing, I can only think of one place that is exposed, and then only rarely. |

| Look at the bright side, there most likely won't be any more blower pow to spray on one another this year, if there is, chances are Shred G Nard won't be on the same hill at the same time, so, by golly, LETS BE DONE WITH IT ! |

You might have a point there, DE, but you might also find yourself in a lot of trouble real quick if you start to rationalize like that. _________________ Home Is Where Your Skis Is |

Skied the S. Face of Dromedary today, the line just east of Tanners. The place was over run with poeple. I think I saw two others, APD and Tri-U. Friggin gapers followed right up behind me, the nerve.
Anyway. We waited for it to soften up high, but didn't want to wait to long. We skied down around 9:30am with firm snow up high, and nice corn in the middle, and glop avy debris down low. |

Does anyone remember when people used to say "Hi" when you passed them in the backcountry? And were really quite happy to see others out sharing a great day.
Just wondering.
The Wastach Backcountry Scene seems to be going the way of the L.A. Surf Scene.
ObMiya: So does anyone pack heat in the backcountry?
ObGetOverIt: There's a lot of places right now that are really good, and vewy, vewy, quiet. |

I don't remember. I'm only 42 years old. Must have been before my time. |

Did a nice Alta boundary tour today. Seagull was ripe when we skied it at 11:15, probably would have been ideal to drop a bit earlier. Perfect corn on Catherine's at 2:00.

XOVER:
We get it: You make great, big, fast swishy-swashy turns. And you only do it for the downhill. You can stop directing every single one of your posts in one of those directions now.
MAYNARD: Is a knowledgeable fellow with a heart of gold below the gruff exterior. My encounters with him were always pleasant....
on the other hand....
WOW: the internet hero of teletips.com jack-off fantasy fame is always one of the following when you meet him in person.
a. Annoying
b. Rude
c. Disrespectful
d. All of the above
His arrogant and abusive behavior is the stuff of legend.

Whoa - now you know that there's definitely not enough snow flying out there!! The bad guy would be the high pressure system, I suspect.
Good corn on all aspects by 1 pm today. A for what it is and yeah, it's fun, but it ain't nuddin' like a good powder day! |

This reminds me of a classic Canadian joke, most people on this board probably won't get it, but there may be a few older Canucks who do .
The Saskatchewan farmer walks on to his front porch and realizes the wind has blown away a bunch of his topsoil and his barn has just burned down. So he raises his fist in the air and screams "Damn the CPR!!" |

Christ. remember two months ago when everyone on this thread got along? Jesus....
The comparison to the LA Surf Scene seems almost too true right now. |
