I may be the oldest geezer lurking on this site but I saw those ladies doing some awesome skiing at the Alpine Meadows comp. I began to realize that today's skiing was a lot different that what I grew up with.

I like what I see. I wish I was 22 years old. Maybe I'll get a pair of those weird skis and taste the modern world next season. I think I'll need some FlyLow duds as well.
You go ladies!

Hey Dan, I think the comment was pointed at the poster and his choice of entry, i.e. chick tele skiers doing the all girl thing, when in reality it's a shameless plug for Flylow women's clothing Rolling Eyes

Yeah, it's cheesy, but I bet the girls don't complain, I mean would you complain about free gear, free RV, and free heliskiing if all you had to do was show off the clothes?

I'm sure the ladies are all badass skiers, but these shots were advertisement. So, anyone have shots of them skiing the real deal, i.e. championships?

That's all a bit cynical, there's a lot more content in the original link than pure advertisement. There's only one action shot but some other nice photos, and a story. It certainly qualifies as a good TR.

Yeah, there's also some product placement and plugs, but they're a sponsor, so it's not really that big of a deal. And lord knows there is more good content in that link than 90% of the threads here!

You guys who are talking shit are ridiculous. Yah, the pictures of them skinning up a huge peak, and scoping chutes were sooo lame Rolling Eyes

I was looking at the CB comp photo album, total rippers. Its interesting to see who is spancered , and for what. All those women on big skis in big boots, I think I'm in love, not even factoring in the sparke chaps!

Hey. First post ever on this forum. Just couldn't resist responding after reading some of your feedback. Glad to hear from the other girls out there! As for the free RV and free heli-skiing and designer clothes, I wish that were true. Most of us spent hard-earned money to go on that trip. And there are a ton of ski action photos in addition to the one I posted, but Kevin (the photographer) is hanging onto them so he can submit them to publications. You can see photos from the comp, however, at this link: http://www.shutterfly.com/pro/KKlein/worldtelecomp2009

I always thought the top tele chicks would be doing big ski tours and first descents inthe AK. range. I guess times have changed. Now they stay in RV's by the side of the road and wear designer clothes. No need to link to the site Telekid posted the only skiing shot.

To each his own. If you agree with Leo's definition of "top tele chick", as I personally do, you'll get more out of this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Tordrillo-Pioneer-flights-Mountains-1957-1997/dp/1578330947/ref=cm_cr_dp_orig_subj

than anything remotely involving highway corridors or RV's.

Flylow should thank me. His thread with the semi spam boring no stoke link was heading for the second page and oblivion. Sorry if I wasn't impressed by the best tele skiers making the scene in Valdez. I'm sure these ladies really rip.

Real Alaskan Women this time of year.....are in the AM mending nets, rigg'n boats, bait'n & de-bait'n long-lines, mech'n engines, and MORE....then ski PM Corn till 11:00 or so and then do even MORE. Smile

....'the Smart Ones get a an RV and tour about'! Cowboy boots(unless Natasha's WaterProofs) and hair dryers are silly baggage though!

Exclamation The article has to be fake. How, in Alaska, could that high of a concentration of estrogen go unnoticed this long?
Arrow

Great TR. Appropriate spancership to take a bit of the edge off the expense should always be appreciated. Nice to see the skintrack shots.
