Nope, I get the pm's like skooks does, and it sounds like he's spent some time here, but I don't know who he is.

In any event, I don't think you have to apologize for pegging him as a sock puppet.

You mean the whip-your-liberal-ass-in-argument kind of sock puppet, SteveK?

Laura, we're talkin about freeheelin - not fhw

And while my ass is always getting whipped, let me assure you that even tho the rest of me is pure liberal apple pie, my ass is 100% conservative.

I know this because everytime something comes out of it, its . . . well, let's just say it doesn't smell like roses.

It brings tears to my eyes, seeing their ideology kicked to the curb:

They haven't finished blaming it on not drilling in the AWNR.

I can only dream of being as eloquent as a conservative:
Quote:
The Republican Party is a dead rotting carcass with a few decrepit old leaders stumbling around like zombies in a horror version of 'Weekend With Bernie,' handcuffed to a corpse.

Weekend with Bernie. I liked that movie.

But is the Republican Party really rotting yet? Doesn't a dead party have to lie around for a while before it begins to rot? Just because something smells putrid doesn't mean that its rotting. Have you ever smelled durian? Or steamed brocolli? Not the rotting kind, I mean. I mean fresh steamed brocolli. It smells like s#it, but it hasn't rotted yet.

I think "rotting" is an exagerration.

Beyond that, most of us are no more than one or two degrees of separation from the rest of the "community" through this network of who knows who.

So, does anyone know freewheelin?

I've pegged him as a sock puppet from way back and will apologize for doing so if anyone can vouch for his authenticity.

The ttips community isn't quite as thick in Alberta as it is in the states. I don't know freeheelin123 personally, but I know of him. He lives in the mountains, skis where we ski, and buys and sells tele gear.
Skooks is the one no one seems to know.

Ok, I won't dispute "dead putrid carcass that is rotting from the head."

OK, I stand corrected. Rotting was not an exagerration. It was simply prescient.

It's sad, that when people look at conservatism, their first reflex is . . . the gag one.

Perhaps if they gave out clothespegs at tea bag rallies and other conservative events, turnout would improve.

What say you, conservative members of the OT? Would you be more likely to attend a rally if your nasal passages were not to be assaulted? Are clothespegs the last best hope for conservatism?

They are ready to be handed out as we speak.

The yellow ones are for those who really don't want one, they say the event already smells like money.

I must have missed this last year when I was on holiday. Let the record show I know several people on the happy forum, but none here in the OT, although I think tamer of elks and I are neighbours. But he seems to have disappeared anyway so it doesn't matter.

Nary a response . . . I guess it's True, conservatives are exstink. It is with profound sadness that I look back at the last 8 years of the US Christian Theocracy that destroyed conservatism. If only I could be as eloquent as a Republican:

Quote:
I came to realize that I was in bed with a group of people who were profoundly anti-American. They were professional haters. They wrapped themselves in the flag and "loved America," but it was an America in their imaginations only and cast in their image: white, middle-class, straight, born-again, homophobic and tinged with racism, not to mention misogyny.

Wow, this guy is almost as eloquent as a Republican:

Quote:
In a new book, "40 More Years – How the Democrats Will Rule the Next Generation", he writes in typically barnstorming fashion: "Republicans shouldn't be worried. They should be in agony. They should be throwing up. The Republican brand is the worst political party brand in history."

History, he argues, is on his side.

History is on his side. I think we here in the OT can appreciate the significance of that.

Edit to add: I'd say something else about the worst brand, but then Godwin's rule would come into play and this thread would be as extinct as . . . well, as extinct as . . well, you know.

I wonder what his wife thinks.
