Anyone know what happened to the W-B Avalanche Forecast? The link on the "Weather" page of their website seems to have been disabled.
Maybe they figure that since they've brought the backcountry "inbounds", it's not required anymore. |

Good question. This past Tuesday, I asked an avalanche forecaster at WB that very question. The answer was that it has to do with some website/page redesign. The forecast was posted at the top of Harmony Chair though.
My feeling is that even if there is a webpage redesign issue, it is very important that this information be made available in as many ways as possible, including obviously the website, pre- and post-redesign. Hopefully it reappears soon.
It might be a good idea to fire off an e-mail to WB about this. _________________ We need wilderness because we are wild animals. Every man needs a place where he can go to go crazy in peace.

| The interesting thing is that the avalanche forecast is not being regularly posted at the top of the Harmony, as it normally would be. Some days it's there, others not. It probably would be worthwhile to send a number of emails to WB, as their information on the forecasts is usually quite accurate for the local conditions. |

It's still not posted on the W-B website. _________________ We need wilderness because we are wild animals. Every man needs a place where he can go to go crazy in peace.

| I fired off an email to W-B, and they responded that they plan to have the avalanche forecast back online "soon". |

| The Whistler/Blackcomb Avalanche Advisory is once again on the website. Go from the webpage to Weather & Cams and scroll down to Avalanche Advisory. Thanks for the emails, folks. |
