|
|
So I just mounted some HH on my Revs. I decided to mount the HH in relation to CC instead of using the Revs sticker. All went well BUT after looking at them next to another pair of skis with the very same length also with HH I saw that the Revs HH where mounted almost 4 cm furthur back than the other pair:shock:
So what I'm wondering is ...Title... and if so what did you use.. CC with the Template or the Template and the suggested sticker per G3.
And what do you think of your results? |

| I mounted HH's on my Revs according to G3's directions and the markings on the skis. Results have been great. My all-time favorite skis. |

it's so hard to give a single answer to these kind of questions. I have revs with HH's mounted on them. Sticker....what sticker? At this point, I feel like this: the ball of my foot is my center of effort... When you lay the ski down, it has contact points that touch on the tip and on the tail.
As a rule I center the ball of foot over the mid point of the skis tip and tail contact points. I think center of effort on the center of skis contact points.
**with skis under 80mm wide under foot, I might move the binding slightly forward since firm snow conditions lend themselves to quicker more aggressive turning. (being slightly forward helps this)
**with fatter skis, like the revs, I might move the binding back slightly (but I personally don't) for better floatation in soft conditions.
OTHERS MAY DO IT DIFFERENTLY, THIS IS JUST MY LOGIC AT WORK!!! _________________ the fall line is your friend.... resistance is futile |

Somebody on this forum did a study of the G3 mounting decal and
determined that it would more or less result in .... BOF @ CSR.
Or maybe I have decided that "Life's a Campaign" and it
more important to "sound good than to be right"
As always, it is wise to check any marks on a ski against
measured values. Ski marks and stickers and the like can be
placed incorrectly at the factory.

I didn't find that to be the case--the G3 sticker put my BOF (on a size 27 T1) at CRS minus 4 or 5 cm, which is where I want it. That's about where the BOF is on a Crossbow according to mounting directions, as well as a World Piste in the rear set of holes. BOF @ CRS is super far forward, appropriate only for tricks / skiing switch.
The great thing about the G3 sticker is it will put the BOF at the same point (CRS - 4/5cm) no matter what size boot you have. That's not the case with something like K2's rear holes, where it was perfect for me, but a larger boot would be too far back and a smaller boot too far forward. Use the G3 sticker unless you know you prefer a more forward mount.
Another example: Karhu's mounting directions put my BOF @ CRS - 2 and I didn't like it until I remounted the bindings 3cm back. |

| The mounting decal on the Reverend's topsheet gives great results. I would probably remount that pair without even skiing them first. |

| Mounted mine with O1s, FWIW, on the sticker rec. and absolutely love them. Haven't had them at the resort yet, just powdah in the BC, and it's the best thing I've ever skied. |

Call or email G3 (www.genuineguidegear.com) with your boot size (wait - NOT your boot size but the actual length of boot sole from pin holes to end of vibram heel) and size of Reverends, and they can give you a measurement to pin line. Or so could a shop that has new pairs in stock.
Again, the numbers on the mounting decal are in centimeters of boot SOLE length, not nominal boot size. |

I mounted my Tickets Per G3 as follows-
Find and Mark the "Telemark" line-
it is roughly 6mm behind alpine touring line (the little white line by the serial number of the ski)
Measure from middle pinhole on boot to the heel and mark at 1/2 way (midsole)(call this X). (For example if your measurement is 20cm, you would want to mark at 10cm)
Now measure forward from telemark line (X) and that is your pinline.
When I mounted my bombers, I put the whole biding together, with baseplate and everything - inserted my boot and set it on the ski, lining up with the boot midsole mark with the telemark line and marked my holes that way.
Email G3 as they will probably give you better directions than I
GOod luck for an awesome setup! _________________ "What moves men of genius, or rather what inspires their work, is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough." -Eugene Delacroix |

I must live in a doppleganger universe with the evil Spock. I mount HH's on everything...and I always mount 2 cm forward. Of course I have a size 15-1/2 foot so....it always works out! Of course I usually mount after a 2-beer minimum and under really loud music conditions. _________________ "You can try me on my cell, but most places I want to be, it doesn't work." |

I think we need BoF@CRS t-shirts and stickers. Even more "inside" than "Friend of Mitch"
(Revs + HH is soooo my next ski. Big hole is the quiver right there) _________________ Jordan in Traverse City -- Stay thirsty, my friends... |
