I'm thinking about getting a set of twin tips and getting into the park and wondering why I would put tele bindings on them. My best answer so far is "So I don't have to buy new boots", since all I have is tele gear right now.

Are there better reasons to stick with tele gear for the park? Are there things you can do there on tele gear that you can't with fixed heels?

most people will tell you there is nothing extra you can do on teles and it just makes things more challenging. it definately does make things more challenging. you can drop knees on boxes though, even if people aren't doing it a lot, it is most definately possible, and cool. I'd say if your a knee-dropper, stick with your roots. alpining is cool, but switch tele turns kick the sh*t out of anything on alpines.

Im personally super stoked about tele's in the park. It is more challenging, but here in my neck of the woods. No one else is doing it. Haven't seen anyone else, wish there were.So I ski with the alpine kids/snowboarders anyway.
As far as tricks go How bout a truck driver pulled in,so that heels extend.Better yet throw in a 360,or 540or.... and the teleslide/grind,seems pretty sweet.I can pull off the drop knee straight on but can't seem do it sideways, thats the ticket.now how bout that on a rail, only seen a sketchy picture somewhere and it was on a small box not more than a footoff the ground.
I would say basically anything switch is alot harder, maybe just mentally. Take offs ad landings, just got the landings. So hard to conmit to the takeoffs for me.Switch tele turns do blow people away, and are way Killer!!!
So, if you already teleski you might as well be part of something
new...and you will get respect from total strangers and your friends alike, but to put the shoe on the other foot. I sure wouldn't mind landing switch without the possiblity of facing on the landing.Love the tele to much to go alpine.

See you in the park, Will

I live in Geneva. Usually ski at Bristol.

I'm still fairly new at skiing ingeneral, having just started last year, and I just started tackling jumps like last week, but I think I'm hooked.

Sick Shot!!! Thanks for posting. I got the 50/50 tele slide down and have been able to do the tele grind. Was trying to do it completely perpendicular to the box and can do small drop knees. This shot looks like is at about a 45 degree angle to the box, and is able to tweak it out more. Thanks for the insight, going to try it this way and see. also box on top of car, giving me ideas for our park next year.

yeah, i'm not quite 90 degrees, but i'm drifting through it. I came off switch. i balance mostly on my front foot, and the back foot will have a tendency to catch, so I really have to concentrate on keeping my dropped knee flat. I hope any of this helps. Good luck

Was trying them today on a 22 flat box. Could get it out there a little
but, was having trouble with the ski catching, took one almost bad fall.
But Ill concentrate on keeping the ski flat, and maybe getting a little lower. Thanks for the Tip.

mount them with tele bindings because thats where the sprot needs more support
the more people that see telers in the park the more they want to try it and the more the industry grows
and it is a nice challenge

since we're on the topic of dropped knees on boxes, I just wanted to post this vid real quick since I got one on film last season! I know it's nothing big and it's a tiny box, but it was a milestone for me!
