|

I just bought rossi sick bird 178's. I want to use them for pow pow, steeps, kickers, switchamarking and little park. When i got them mounted it ended up that my toes were positioned over the center of the ski. it seems far back to me. I am used to a centermounted telepark ski. Would it hurt the ski to remount the bindings forward? or can i just leave it where it is?
any advice would be awsome |

| I would get them remounted if you are feelin they are too far forward. The holes can just be filled w/ epoxy which should hold up. Plus landing switch is way easier when it is further forward. I just picked up a pair and I was going to mount them 1cm forward of the telemark binding line. |

| The problem is that the center line is a good reference, but not such a good place for your pins cause that tends to put you too far back. Boot center on ski center isn't really good either unless you're only going to be making p-turns because when you drop a knee you end up with too much ski behind where your weight is. I've tended to split the difference and go with pins 2-3 inches in front of ski center. I came to that after some remounts, which never seemed to hurt anything except the wallet if the shop won't redo for free. Hope it helps. dan |

| I have a pair of Rossi Sick Birds 178, and I mounted them with R8s. I mounted them boot center, 2cm back from the rando line. They ski great on everything. Only if you put the power into them, and have a big boot to drive them. Right now I have had about 10 days on them, from bc to hard pack. And am totaly happy with the mount point, they ski everything. Even on the rails I feel soild. One thing to watch out for though is, the bases are really thin. I have already put two core shots in each ski. There is lots of side to side edge but not much in the way of height. Saying that I would not ski any other ski. |
