If you like bumps and trees, go with the TM 22's. They're a quicker-turning ski underfoot, longitudinally a bit softer, and float decently in powder. The TM:X's are a bit stiffer, hold an amazing edge on ice, but demand that you stay centered; maybe not quite as forgiving as the 22's, but fun in powder.
Both skis will do well on hardpack/ice, but the TM:X goes faster better.
Hope that kinda helps. (I have the predecessor to the TM:X, the TM:EX, and love them. The TM 22's always felt a little "twitchy" whenever I tried them, but that could be my style. Didn't like them.) _________________ A humble student at Fryingpan University.
