Kathy and I had a good weekend though no photos my camera was out of battery power.
On Saturday we got a late 11:30 start saw 4 cars at the Tin Can lot but went up the sunny side instead, crossed over dropped down into Seattle creek and headed up a point on the other side two points down the ridge from Big Cheif. As we got towards the top we ran into some really deep slush and desided to turn around and head back over and to the car. We were able to ski from the car to the car.
On sunday we biked the Rushian lake trail which was in good shape.
Just thought I would let it be known that Jeff Case found my missing ski at Hatcher pass complete with skin still attached.
Oh if anyone has heared of someone losing a K2 Hellbent in a 189 length complete with a Salamon 916 binding on it over on the sunny side then have them get hold of us because we found it in the brush near the bottom of our last run to the car.
I guess its that time of year when the snow starts to return that which it so unapologeticlly has taken from us durring the winter. |

Descending Wolverine Ridge near Cdv today saw two Alaska State Troopers and a friend hiking up for a taste of #9 corn. Way Cool!!
Those Boys/Girls know their "Fire" fur sure! Both are pilots too!
____________
BTW, DPS's were in their arsenal from the fleeting, arching glance I caught as I flew by...AK Troopers are Troopers BTW!!!! |

| biked down to the Ptarmigan or S Couliour...ive heard it called both...still lots of big snow patches on the glen alps powerline trail but manageable. couliour looks great, sun cup texture but soft with lots of pepper. watch/ listen for falling rocks. i had some headphones in while booting and happened to catch certain death careening down the snow. it stayed away from me but it had rolled out of a narrow choke point in the snow and have caught someone off gaurd and killed them...or me...i put the ipod away and put the helmet on. super fun snow but heads up. |
