These skis worked amazing for me. They were my first pair of early rise skis, and I had a few problems with them in the beginning. I listened to line when mounting them, they told me to put them right on the recommended alpine mounting mark. That was way to forward, so I did the amature thing and just moved the Hammer Heads one screw hole length back, after that they skied fantastically.
So it was a shitty year on the east coast (extra shitty then usual). I skied these almost every day in all conditions. I tested these out in mostly things they were not necessarily made for and loved them. I only got to ski powder a select few times, and even then it was not much.
These things ripped on the hard stuff. why you say? The ski was designed to have a lowered early rise tip and tail so the ski planes instead of plows in the powder (more like a speedboat instead of a tug boat) and in lowering and reducing the amount of the early rise and early taper it put almost full effective edge on the snow when you go to lay down a turn (more grip less slip). These skis absolutely fly on the hard pack. I would honestly take these out and have more fun ripping around on the groomers then my traditional "narrower" skis. They held a great edge, are incredibly stable, and versatile. Having the early rise they turned quick when you needed them to in techinical/hairy situations. Only thing that I did not like was skiing these in moguls. They did it but could get out of control.
Over all, SUPER versatile, durable, fast, fun, and stable ski. Highly recommend them.
Heres a little vid messing around in the woods on them.
Yes this is at Cannon. Believe it or not, the only time I really used another pair of skis was for soft bump days, and when I hit the park at Pats Peak.
If only I had these last year with cannon's record snow fall...
