Hi everyone. Have been on RT86 183cm for about 3 years now and was quite satisfied. They are quite messed up already and I´m searching for a new tourer. Should be able to handle everything from ice pack to pow. I think it should not be much longer 183, because kick turns in tight terrain are getting a pain in the ass with longer skis. I don´t want to go heavier than the Rts. I consider myself a very good and aggressive skier. So any suggestions Völkl Amaruq, K2s, Kästles??????
Cheers for suggestions. |

| Recommend you take this to the main forum - you'll get more hits; otherwise, I can't help you since I prefer a heavier, more downhill oriented touring ski. |

You might want to consider G3's Soulfly. at 5 1/2 lbs for 177s, light, competent at most conditions given the light weight, definite speed limit vs more aggressive skiing. Durable, responsive, variety of turn shapes. Does not like really hard snow but it can get down same if pushed. _________________ M Van |

You still might be able to find RT86's, Telemarkdown had some earlier this year and I found a pair squirreled away in an REI in Anchorage. Great little ski! Good luck. _________________ A humble student at Fryingpan University. |

Have you had a look at any of Hagan's offerings? Found an older pair called Unicorns and are a really nice light touring ski. Their latest version, the Skyraider or even the Corvis look very interesting.. _________________ Keep it wild |

| Voile Vectors are nice, reasonably priced, and very light for their size. Not the quickest turners on ice, but they have great edge hold. In soft snow and pow they float nicely and do in fact turn quickly. |

| Put my RTs on for a day of Spring Corn this June. Light and agile but total chatter on the suncups compared to my DPs on the same snow the next day. The DPs were only 2 oz's/ski heavier but tons more fun. |

| I too have a pair of the RT 86. Have found them quick in tight trees, but not so great on hard fast conditions. I just picked up a pair of DPS wailer 95 pures, second hand..lightly used and fell in love instantly. I tried the Wailer 99 last season and lusted for them but found the 95s for a great deal and am very happy. I will continue to use the RT 86 but will no doubt lean toward the DPS for the majority of the season. |
