It looks like 19th and 20th are the first w/e days. If the road is open and the following week looks like a disaster for the snow, there will be Slackfest A & B. "A" will be 19th and 20th with "B" being 26th, 27th and 28th. The 10th Mountain Memorial Day Slalom will be set up on the 28th.

AutoRoad closed due to snow down to 3000 feet. They hope to open to halfway for the w/e. They are now saying it's doubtful they can finish repairs for the 19th.

On the other hand, a fresh blanket will insulate what's still on the snowfields...fingers crossed for Memorial Day w/e.

The fog and above freezing temps of yesterday chewed on the East Snowfields. Here is what remains as of about 7:30AM today:

Well to be honest, the shots from the other day you posted were a little missleading because a lot of what looked to be base snow was just the new snow that had fallen last week and quickly melted away. On a more possitive note, the melt rate may not be a fast as what is being represented.

"Here's a Tuesday morning update - there is now a slight chance that we may get the repairs done to the upper mountain to enable us to open to the summit this Saturday, May 19. Underline slight chance... I normally wouldn't post any update this early in the week because it's so uncertain, but we're starting to get more questions and calls so this is the current situation. We need reasonable weather to get the repairs and paving done and the forecasts are indicating that we might get that. As always - operations are weather dependent."
