Quote:
Jimmy Carter is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy who spent ten years in the uniformed service of his country. As far as I can tell, this is ten years more than the cumulative service of all members of the Romney clan. Obviously you don't have to be a veteran to have judgments about military policy or criticisms of others' views. But when it comes to casual slurs about someone else's strength or resolve, you want to be careful, as a guy on the sidelines, sounding this way about people who have served.

Oooooh, burn.

Good link, Steve. Thanks for posting. I read it quickly and my first thought was that it might have been good advice for Obama to follow before he politicized his "heroic" decision by implying that Romney wouldn't have done the same thing. One other point...I'm not sure that Romney's remark was intended to cast Carter as a wimp, rather than just the dumb shit that he was.

I think it was just a reminder that, like Carter, Obama is a junior varsity player mistakenly elevated to the major leagues. (after a horribly failed Republican administration).

Hopefully Obama becomes an equally awesome ex-President and top notch citizen which Carter has proven to be.

During the 2008 primaries, Romney said that OBL wasn't really anything to worry about. I believe that's what they're tweaking Romney with. Guy needs to get better with a little more chill responses.

Shocked Shocked WOW.....this riviting dialogue was worth a whole seperate thread directed at me !! Trust me Steve, I'm honored, but your threads just never get any legs. You perform much better as a participant in a discussion, rather than a leader of a discussion. Wink
