Maybe JPL and the rest of the birther shitshow can chime in here, too. George W. Bush-- totally right about Iraq. It was a good idea, well-planned, and even with the benefit of hindsight, a totally awesome undertaking.

At least Freeheelwilly is willing to admit to being a troll.

He'll never admit being totally fucking wrong about the Iraq War being a good idea, though. Laughing That'll provide chuckles for years. He can see both side of the issue-- just not this one.

I wonder if Willy thinks that Vietnam was a wonderful idea and that we just needed to "stick it out"?

What does the Iraq War have to do with Vietnam? Are you really that fucking dumb? Oh, nevermind.

Iraq was a chance for the Neocons to finally vindicate their theory of power which worked so wonderfully well in Vietnam..it was a great opportunity!

I'm not trolling. Take a breath you angry little freak. This can not possibly be the first time you've realized that there are people who profoundly disagree with you about Iraq. Quit acting like that's such a shocker. Your views are hardly universal. Calm down.

That Dubya was totally vindicated on the Iraq War.

Laughing Laughing Your characterization - not mine. You're funny.

No, I'm really surprised that you believe the Iraq War somehow makes Bush's presidency a success. I didn't think you were that stupid.

As for viewing the Iraq War as terrible idea-- never thought there was universal agreement there. I just think that most people who were paying any fucking attention agree.

You wouldn't know a neo-con if one kicked you in the head. Honestly, dude, you're an idiot. Neo-conservatism wasn't even around in 1965. Please - go away.

I take people's words and make them stand up for them. If their arguments in their own defense suck ass, so be it. You ought to be familiar with that sort of thing. Anways, it's fun-- especially the way you and Laura have both actually tried to put up recently. Usually you're just drive-by trollers who shit out garbage and don't bother trying to defend it, other than pretending that you're just trolls. Been different recently, and way, way more fun, with everyone trying to defend the most hilarious shit around here.

Willy, most of the "leadership" in that regard are old enough to be your great-grandparents .. Laughing Laughing

But you know that. This is your new schtick, isn't it? make up your own version of a debate and ignore people when they repeatedly correct you. You did it with JPL last week for about 3 days running. Boring.

I was wrong in the way I characterized JPL's birther freakout.

Exactly. You've hit the nail right on the head. You take people's words, clumsily cram them into some narrative you find momentarily convenient, and then spend the next week thumping your hollow little chicken chest in victory. You're such a waste of skin.

Yet more from the board irony forgot.

Seriously, "neocons" never popped up yesterday ..and many have surprising origins..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism
The vast majority active right now have an unwavering
faith that we could have and should have won Vietnam..More bombs willy, more bombs! The term itself was used in the 1930s though the "movement" as we know it was clearly taking shape in the 1960s..Find a "neocon" who does not think
Vietnam was a justified and winnable endeavor Wilbur.. Laughing Laughing

Oh please, Steve, I have no problem defending the positions I take against your "withering" attacks. You don't argue; you erupt. It's funny to watch you react to the fact that there are actually people in the world that have the temerity to disagree with you. Your opinions really aren't that appealing, Steve, and your powers of persuasion are practically non-existent.

Iraq? Yeah, dude, I agreed with the concept in March of 2003 and I agree with it now. Big deal. When was I supposed to "change my mind"? What would have been the event that should have just tore it for me and caused me to jump on the ant-Iraq War bandwagon with you and the rest of the navel gazers?

(Oh, and are you now trying to compare those of us who supprted the war in Iraq with Birthers? Laughing Laughing I can't do this with you today, Steve. That's just too fuckin' dumb.)

There's still time. I don't know which of the many, many reasons it wasn't worth it will cinch it for you. Deaths, dollars, good will, opportunity cost, wrong pretenses. You think we got a good deal? You think it was necessary? I really thought your schtick was tweaking people about simplistic "no blood for oil" arguments. But to still pretend it wasn't an unnecessary waste-- that's funny.

No. What's funny is that you can't admit it didn't turn out poorly. See, guys like you really wanted it to go Full Shit Show. You could barely contain yourselves in the Summer of 2007 when things were really poppin' over there and the place was teetering. Then for months after the Surge we heard how the Surge didn't work. The denial was unbelievable and what fueled it was ugly. It just REALLY pissed guys like you off that the US wasn't forced out and humiliated in 2007. You were SO close. Man, think about it, you could have milked that schadenfraude for at least a generation - maybe two. You might have been able to demoralize the military (again) and hamstring our intelligence services for decades! And then....Poof! The Surge comes along and you're sittin' there with your dick in your hands and your pants down around your ankles. It's just not fair!

It did turn out poorly, Willy. An argument that it could have been worse doesn't change that.

As for the rest of your drivel-- don't expect me to defend against complete fiction. Wink

Tell that to Iran. Who do you think they'd rather have as a neighbor?

Beyond that, Iraq was about global security. Securing the worlds 2nd largest known oil reserves so when the house of saud finally falls, and it's just a matter of time, the scramble for oil among emerging economies with nuclear capabilities might not lead to world war. Mission accomplished. Laughing
