You could barely contain yourselves in the Summer of 2007 when things were really poppin' over there and the place was teetering. Then for months after the Surge we heard how the Surge didn't work. The denial was unbelievable and what fueled it was ugly. It just REALLY pissed guys like you off that the US wasn't forced out and humiliated in 2007. You were SO close. Man, think about it, you could have milked that schadenfraude for at least a generation - maybe two. You might have been able to demoralize the military (again) and hamstring our intelligence services for decades! And then....Poof! Beyond that, Iraq was about global security. Securing the worlds 2nd largest known oil reserves so when the house of saud finally falls, and it's just a matter of time, the scramble for oil among emerging economies with nuclear capabilities might not lead to world war. Mission accomplished.
