As for your sophmoric editorializing about a Supreme Court decision that hasn't been handed down yet: If the Supreme Court feels the law is unconstitutional - it's unconstitutional. It is the "court of last resort" on such issues. You can join the whiners who always cry foul when the Supreme Court doesn't go their way but....to what end? And I don't know why you guys on the Left get so hung up on the fact that the individual mandate arose from conservative circles and a conservative majority on the Supreme Court might find that provision unconstitutional. Why is that somehow hypocritical, disingenuous or even...... ironic? Where is it written that conservative solutions and policy positions must align with conservative jurisprudence? What I find fun is how everyone on the Left scoffed when some on the right suggested that the individual mandate might be unconstitutional. Last week they were properly chastened to learn that - surprise! - there might actually be a significant constitutional issue involved. Who knew? Laughing Laughing

FWIW - I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Court is going to strike this thing down. Kennedy's questions seemed to show a certain sympathy/understanding for both sides of the issue and Roberts may well vote with Kennedy. I predict the law is upheld 6-3.

Miked, the newest forum-dunce, is a lot more attuned to the politics of this issue than you and Boooohb. Laughing Forget about your single-payer utopian dream. Not. Gonna. Happen.
you're slipping. You actually posted something real. Curious about Roberts' stance on this. Of course this is all a big circle jerk anyway, right Willy?

Well, sure. Windsock's just following the lead of commentators like this one now that the winds are blowing a little steadier:
http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/04/04/embarrass-the-future/

But there's no mention of those "serious constitutional issues" in there. In fact, it scoffs at the notion. So I'm still waiting to hear what those are. No doubt we can wait for a long and detailed explication from willy's guy Clarence Thomas. But in the meantime willy indicates he already knows what those serious issues are, and the experts who noted them from the inception. Maybe the 10th Amendment like he suggested earlier?

I stopped reading about 6 lines down when he says we are the "wealthiest place on earth". Shocked Rubbish.

There are many way to nuance America as being the "wealthiest place on earth".
Had you bothered to read the entire article instead of dismissing it out of hand you may have gleaned DM Greens meaning.
But you're sooooooo superior, I doubt it.
OBTW, Obomber-care is going down, and its supporters, like you, with it.
Cry us a river when it does. Twisted Evil

And what is your knight in shining armor (Romney Very Happy) going to do when he gets into office?

Here's what he's vowed to do:
-Repeal obamacare and put millions of people back into the class of the class of the uninsured
-Cut infrastructure and education spending
-increase military spending beyond what the military has requested.
-Cut medicare and replace it with a private voucher system that offers no guarantees of coverage.
-Cut taxes for the wealthiest of americans because the more money they have the more will trickle down
-Cut taxes and offer more tax loopholes for the booming oil and gas industries.

What do you think about the GOP goals? Im guessing you think this sounds like a great strategy. Long live the USA, "the richest place in the world"!

Can someone explain to me why nitwits like milked presume peeps who do not support Obomber-care are republican supporters?

Um, hmmm, lemme see, because its a 2 party system? Im not enthralled with everything Obama does either, but the alternative makes me puke!

Want to blame someone for the 2 party system? You can start with the supreme court justices that are responsible for Citizens United which made it impossible for outsiders to compete in our political process. Any outsider with even a remote chance of winning an election these days is slammed big time like putting tomatos in a wood chipper, no fvcking chance in hell!

OOOO... I almost missed this gem! WTF are you slobbering all over yourself about now, little man? Do you want to play that time honored OT game of "Battling Links" where you throw up a link to an editorial and then I do the same and then we argue endlessly about whose link is the bestest link in the history of links?

You're such a fucking waste of skin.

So you disagree with the content? Didn't mention the 10th Amendment? Took too incontrovertible a stance on the issues?

Dude, there are people with no arms and no legs, serving out life sentences with absolutely no chance of parole - that are too busy to read your links.

I get it, you lack imagination.

Here's a riddle, look to Canada, the greatest country on earth, then pray for Vermont.

Laughing

You are a piece of work.

Listen up though, stay the hell off the 'happy forum' or slamdance is gonna join fhw on the beach. By now you should know that dragging your grievances with each other upstairs, out of this den of iniquity and into the main party, does not work out very well for any of us. Laughing

I'm asking you to not cross that line and thanking you in advance for your cooperation.

That's weird and creepy, taking the stalking up to the main forum.

Someone should take notice about such behavior spilling outside the OT.
